I loved it on my reccie if that's any use!

Where is the house? I had a good look round the area, so can let you know what we thought of it. If it's on or near the esplanade (especially south of beach road), it will be a good spot.

When I lived in Port Noarlunga in the 70s it was okay! However, I understand that during the 80s & 90s it got a bad reputation.

Now having said that when we did our Reccie last year it had a few rough areas and then some really nice areas, like most places in fact. You may have to consider school zones as the high schools Christies Beach and Wirreander don't have the greatest reputation.

Myself personally wold live there but I would have to consider the schooling side of things.

Just my own personal thoughts and I'am sure those that are living there can give a more up to date view.

We've lived in Christies coming up for a year although we do live more towards the port noarlunga side we absolutely love it. Never experienced any anti social behaviour and being close to the beach is amazing!! Have to say theres some houses around the gulf view rd part which are shabby looking in my opinion but it is an area which is slowly being rejuvenated. The things I love about living at Christies are being able to walk to the beach for walks in the evening, walking distance to the shops, close to collonades for shopping and near to train station (when it's up and running again). Not sure if we'll buy here but Definetly enjoying living here for the now :)

We bought a house in Christies Beach last October, Its much quieter that where we used to live in Port Noarlunga although the houses were £100,000 more!!! In areas it needs some attention but name me a place where doesn't? We chose the area because we could get space for our budget, we moved into a 3 bed home over 1082sqm plot, large rumpus & workshop, large swimming pool, fernary, huge garden at the bottom, 5 car garage + another carport. We have nothing in front of us just the sea, 2 min drive to a beautiful beach. But we don't have views because of the creek and trees!!. All our neighbours are nice, no issues with noise like the old property (inconsiderate pom who liked to party until 5am). Its not always pretty to look about as the area and houses are older. Our street is in an older area + loads of trees that drop their leaves & branches and it can look quite messy at times. not like the new nice estates and houses but you have no space or garden. Once i shut my front door i have my own piece of heaven.

Schools my son finished CBHS year 12 SACE last year, but he has stayed on this year doing specialist math. He won a scholarship to Adelaide Universality from CBHS which he starts next March. Tbh the school have been excellent with us, informative from the start and were honest about its reputation that it is trying hard to reverse. Once a place gets bad press it is rarely that people will change their opinions. However we pay private for our youngest he goes to Cardijn college as he has special educational needs and felt he was better placed. You hear bad things about all schools whether CBHS, Seaford, Wirreander, Hallett cove.. you need to look at schools and judge for yourself.

Were close to all facilities, bowling alley, ice rink etc, excellent shopping, train station (when running again)

Basically if you can get over the negative press which it no longer deserves, it is a nice place to live and if your on a budget like us who still wanted to live by the sea rather than going inland its ideal.

Your welcome to pop to ours for a nosey..

I agree the bad reputation is just that a bad rep, there are some far worse area you could live in. It all depends on the street too but again that's a personally opinion I loved living down there but we could not find a house that matched our criteria in Pt Noarlunga or Christies Beach so live just up the road at Noarlunga Downs. Again another area with a bad rep but not deserved.

    Good luck

Just one of those things - didn't get a good feel for the house, wide angle pics made garden look bigger and it was quite overlooked
