Annual Leave Loading?

Can anyone tell me more about this? My husband says it is a standard 17.5% yet my new company's website says 'annual leave loading-as define by Company'. I'll find out Monday but I'm curious now;)

It means that you get paid more when you are on holiday than when you are at work! Yes, even I get it, something that I've never got before. Steve used to get it in the UK, his used to be to compensate for not being able to earn overtime/bonus. He also gets it here too.

As a follow up, do you find most companies give you your 4 wks off at the beginning or do you need to wait until you have been there a year?
