This is ridiculous...

So it it means they haven't touched any file from last month because when they updated last month few members from this blog got their visa approved like 2 from 16th November.

no idea what they doing now. before timeframe was 45 days approx now I think 5-6 months minimum.?

Absolutely mate....they just waiting for june 30 or end of this financial year...weak visa planning by immigration....its simple clear that they will take around 5 months to allocate files then requesting more documents even you have provided all documents as per checklist....which means another two months after allocation...this is immigration's service standard now...

Yes. It seems 6 months. what's worse is that in that period you cannot get your partner in as you dont have a visa category. Even tourist visa in family sponsored is not possible. I m in the middle of nowhere

Hello everyone

Hope everyone is OK and soon to hear good news from any member who applied for 887.

I'm on 489 visa currently and gonna apply for 887 on 18th-April.

I went through the immigration website and got the check list of documents. Preparing all package but still have some questions:

1. Do I need to provide my Super documents as well for my job?

2. which one is required ANP or NPC? or is there any difference at all as in immi website has mentioned ANP.

3. I've been living in a shared house with other people for 8 months. how can I show my residency proof for that 8 months?

4. To have or not to have the Private health insurance has any effect on the case or irrelevant totally?

5. And more important which is my the biggest concern; my wife which is the dependent in 489 and 887 visa has provided her functional English documents for 489 visa (overall 5.0). and the test result is still valid till 10-May-16. Shall I have any stress about providing new test result or paying installment?

I know that;s too many questions but I;m sure all you guys have been through this process and questions.

Appreciate all your help :)

Good day

Quick Question,

I applied 887 in Feb 2016. Before I was in 489 & fulfill requirement of 887, I got the job in my relevant field and I moved to Sydney. My bridging visa doesn't have any visa restriction. Please let me know, if it effect to my 887 visa application. Genius Please

When is your 489 visa expires? Your bridging visa will only take effect after the expiry of your 489 visa. If you have moved to Sydney, you are now in breach of your 489 visa conditions. Unless you dont inform Immi and they dont found out that you moved, then it might not affect your application. Theres someone in this forum with the same scenario as yours and had informed immi that he moved to perth, he was asked to go back to regional area.

Thanks for reply,

I already informed to immigration and my 489 expire 2018. I studied in Australia 4 years and then take 3 years to find first job in my relevant field. That is the reason, I moved to Sydney. After we applied 887 ,then registered to medicare & center-link. After that all our information Linked. We are unable to hide" living area" from immigration. So, I informed to immigration. Couple of my friend got 190 and they also had condition to stay 2 years in regional area. They said, they request from immigration and got release the condition.

In my case, still I don't have case officer for 887 application.

but I have case officer for 489. Still, I didn't inform the 489 case officer.

Please let me know the best option for me?

Many thanks

Hi WGar,

This is finally I understand,

if 887 visa reject, then able to take 489? depend on 489 visa expire day.

887 no visa condition

to apply 887 - Stay 2 years regional & 1 year full time work condition

489 conditions - 4 years in regional live/work/study.

Please let me know, if I am wrong.

Thanks

I dont know what will happen to 489 visa if 887 is rejected... I dont know any 887 applicant that was rejected as long as you complied with the 2 years regional residency and 1 year fulltime work. While your 489 is in effect(4 years validity), you cannot live and work outside of regional area until you have applied and approved of 887 visa. The safest thing to do is return to regional area while waiting for 887 approval as you have breach your visa conditions by moving to Sydney. In the case of your friend on a 190 visa, the 2 year residency req is not a binding agreement between him and the sponsoring state as there was no visa conditions attached to his visa. It is only a moral obligation agreed when he applied for state sponsorship. In the case of 489, since we still need to apply for a PR 887 visa, we need to abide with conditions of living at least 2 years in a regional area and have worked at least 1 year fulltime. 489 visa holders can also ask their sponsoring state to release them but still have to live and work in a regional area. Unlike for the 190 visa, they can live anywhere. As you have noticed, the sponsoring state was not specified in 489 visa condition- meaning we can live and work in any state's regional area. Since Sydney is not a regional area and your 489 is still in effect, you have breached your visa conditions and may affect your 887 application or worst, may lead to deportation.
