Here is an update after Speaking to the Department today. As i had finished my 6 month (27/03) wait i thought i will call and see whats the status. What i was advised was as follows;

The Dept has a large Backlog and that they have received all the documents they requested in February. Unfortunately due to the backlog that a decision has not been made and that it could take atleast a month before i can hear anything. So i guess for me it seems my process has gone up further by 1 month. (Total 7 Months)

 

I was also advised that if i dont hear any thing in April to Call them again and check the status. Not sure whats going on but i guess its time to wait again.

..Yes @Steve887, thats exactly the case right now. The volume of applications for the 887 is high and considering also that the financial year is nearing its end. I had my file verified (internal contact) and it wasnt allocated yet(together with other 7 applications). What we can do right now is wait patiently.

I have question with regards to Form 1221. I have submitted 1221 form for both the applicants (main and second applicant).

 

Q: I left lot of the filed blank and haven't filled anything as not relevant to me or my VISA but didn't add NA as not aware is it right to write NA or not.

 

for e.g. Q20: Give details of any intended stopovers on your way to Australia...Places of intended stopovers

Q21 Give details of any proposed onward locations after your departurefrom Australia

Q22 Are you fully funding your trip?No

Is this alright to leave blank or we need to write NA.

 

There many such questions...any idea guys what is the write thing to do in such scenario??

Hi...still the immigration is upto mid of november may be u can hear something in this month... In my case when i was checking in the ecom it says my file has been processing further from 10/3/16 and all the sudden without any docs request they have granted on 30/3/16. I didn't even submitted form 80 (or) form 1221. So keep on checking in ecom site if anything changes there then within 2 weeks you get some response

Hi Guys,

 

I just completed my 2 year period yesterday for 887 visa and I am doing my online applications now.

We blessed by a baby 7 months back and unfortunately we still haven't register him in my Mother country ( Sri Lanka)

But we already registered him here and got the 489 visa for him plus the Australian birth certificate.

When I am doing the Online application there's a question asking my babies passport details.

I already submitted all docs to get Sri Lankan passport but it'll take another 2 months.

 

My question is do I really need passport details for my baby to lodge 887 visa since he already got the birth certificate here and 489 visa?

Applied on Oct 13 2015 .CO allocated on Feb 9 and requested documents submitted on 23 Feb.I submitted documents again on March 31 through email and I called them today morning Then Finally Got PR today at 2.30

Best to call immi and ask can you submit the application without the passport or not??

my case i waited for my baby's passport because my understanding was without the passport they cannot issue a bridging visa..... but you never know they may have a option for that.

Hi i am a 496 applicant completing my two years in regional area and want to apply for 887. I have more than 1 year employment but a lot of the weeks I was employed less than 35 hours. I would complete the more than 1900 hours required but would not have 52 weeks of 35 hours working. My question is would that be okay.

I applied 887 through an agent on 08/10/15, CO on 03/02/16, Now I am would like to know whether am I allowed to communicate with the Department myself or I have to go through the agent only?

Hi all..

I lodged my 887visa on the 12th December 2015, but still no any reply from them. I was on 489 visa.

I just wonder one of my friends lodged his visa on 30th of December and got PR on last February.

Also I could notice some people granted very quickly while others getting slow...

 

some of them are single applicant..

When I called the immigration they tald me the process has changed and now they consider according to the date they receive applications!!!

if your application proceed without those details you can apply but if not you need passport first.

i think passport is mandatory.

its my personal experience you can sort advice from any professional too.
