Hi forum members…trying to clear a thorn in my flesh……its regarding the functional English proof for secondary applicant….I have uploaded the letter from university stating my wife has completed her degree studies and medium of instruction were in English. But her surname in the university enrolment is different from that in the passport (as the surname changed to my name after marriage). Will it matter in any manner ???? I had clearly made it clear about the name change in Form 80 though……any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.....and Thanks Miranda887 for the addition.

 

 

Should not be a problem, especially if you specified the change in Form 80 and probably in application itself (I'm pretty sure they have this question there).

When I was applying for 486 visa my country changed the rules on name spellings so my husband had his name spelled differently on his documents and his new passport and it wasn't a big deal.

I just got email "Additional request for information" with no CO allocated.

And they ask for information that I provided for visa that I'm on now. For example - " Please provide details of how you occupied your time and financially supported yourself for the period – Jan 2008 to Jun 2008, Jun 2009 to Jun 2010, Oct 2013 to May 2014". - that was before I came to australia

 

It is so strange. Did this happen to anyone else?

My guess is that you provided the form 80 but in the form where you were requested to fill in employment and education info, you left gaps in time while it specifically said not to leave gaps. That's just a wild guess so I may be way off, but just take it as a little reminder if I'm wrong.
