  1. Hi, I have a selection of books for sale for the 11-14 year old girl I have a series of books by Jessica Burkhart called 'Canterwood Crest". I believe there are 18 in the series and I currently have 1-11 with the rest on order from the UK. They are $16.99 and I am looking for $5 each. My daughter tells me they are about a girl who goes to a boarding school where the emphasis is on horse riding. Its all about competition between girls and she absolutely LOVED them. If you have a daughter who is a horse lover like mine they would be an ideal gift. They are all in immaculate condition. Please PM if interested Thanks Karen I also have the 4 books in the 'Monster High series, again $5 each also in immaculate condition
  2. I hope not I have just brought my new book !!!!!!!!
  3. Hi, The 8503 restriction means that they cannot apply for ANY substantive Visa. This will include the 804 as it is a substantive Visa. Why do they have the 8503 clause.??? It is not usual with a tourist visa. In answer to your other questions. If they were in a position to apply for an 'onshore 804 visa' They would be able to remain in Australia on a bridging visa A (which they would be granted if the application is valid) The wait is anything from 8-12 years at the moment I believe but the bridging visa would allow them to stay. During this 8-12 years there are various other stages like medicals etc. My mum has been on a bridging visa A for 3 years and has not been required to have the medical yet. Hope that helps Karen
  4. I think it means that you will have to renew it just like your Drivers Licence - just another way for the Government to make some extra money. I don't think there is any change planned for the actual test.

[h=2]Child in Australia[/h]You must be the parent of a child who is settled in Australia as one of the following: an Australian citizen an Australian permanent resident an eligible New Zealand citizen. Sharon, I just downloaded this section for you. There is more info on the immigration website. Oh and it is the 804 onshore visa lol g
  7. Hi Sharon, There are several posts relating to this type of situation, however a member called Gollywobbler is the font of all knowledge when it comes to parent visas. My mum is currently living here on a bridging visa A which she got after she applied for an ONSHORE parent visa. The criteria for this is: 1 The applicant must be 64 years old 2. The applicant must have at least half of their children lving in Oz from the sounds of it (and I have only looked briefly) your MIL could apply for an ONSHORE visa once she is in the country. So I would suggest she comes over on a tourist visa for say 9-12 months and if she likes it she could apply for the ONSHORE parent visa (Subclass 108 I think). Once the application is accepted ie she fits all the criteria, she will be given a bridging visa A. She can leave Oz whilst she is on this visa but must apply for a bridging visa B. That is really just a snapshot of it. If you do decide to go this way I have a copy of the papers I filled out for my mum so would be happy to assist you. The initial cost for this application is about $2500, then there are further costs along the way but its way cheaper than the contributary parent visa. Hope that helps Karen
  8. For me it was arriving at the bus stop this morning to drop my daughters off to hear "Oh crap I've got my slippers on". I laughed until the tears rolled down my cheek. The other daughter was mortified and all she could say was "see ya"

It was quite successful and it makes sense especially those who live north and don't come south much and vice versa. Anyway we have some visitors from the UK and are thinking of going to Greenhills Adventure Park. Anyone want to swap their Greenhills voucher (E21) for something they are interested in.?? I am also happy to swap any other vouchers if anyone has any requests. Cheers Karen
