I just want to advise that doing the MYOB Courses, teaches how to use the software, not how to do bookkeeping. I have been amazed by some of the things that certficate IV has taught me that all the MYOB courses didnt. Regards Sandra

Hi Diane Do you submit the BAS to the accountant or work under the accountant, just because I am doing certificate IV and several of the people doing th course are employed by a companies and doing this course because of the new regulations. I dont think its as easy as just being employed by company. There even was lady who doesnt even do bookkeeping there, but employs bookkeepers to do her clients had to do the course. The regulations are really complicated but there is a transitional period to become BAS Agents. Regards Sandra

There are new regulations about bookkeeping which came in last year (check the ATO website) and if any jobs mention doing the BAS (Business Activity Statements) you will need to be a registered BAS Agent. Even some bookkeeping jobs will also need to be a BAS Agent or at least have Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping or Accounting) which actually includes MYOB training which is available to do at TAFE. They dont always let you know and wont tell you the reason. We are both self employed and I was under estimating our income (one business is seasonal) and we kept losing out on rental after rental until one real estate agent did say that owners dont consider you unless your income is 3 times the rental. But if you havent heard by now and its gone from the website I dont think you have it. BTW if anyone wants to buy an investment property our rental is up for sale. Regards Sandra

I know this isnt going to help Nikki and Jason, but we have bought a ex-demo car with Southside Suzuki, a new Van with CMI Toyota and a 4x4 with Australian Motors and would like to recommend them, they have been great, really friendly and even when we take them for service, if they see us they come and ask how we are getting on. Hi When we move as we have done a few times in 4 years and could be again due to house being sold after four months in. We hired a trailer from Mitre 10 for most of the stuff and had some help from some lovely people from here (they know who they are) and used Five Star for the big and awkward stuff eg 3 piece suite (which is very heavy rental people tell us every time) Fridge/Freezer, glass dining table, glass garden table, etc and they are reasonable or second choice is All Star.
