  5. Hi Mine (subclass 100) was due in October last year and I gave the Depart a call cos I hadnt heard from them (moved a couple of times and did inform them). They were surprised I hadnt got the paperwork and sent the paperwork out straight away. Once you received the paperwork (7 working days from date of letter) you must respond within two months. Included with the letter is Checklist for the Applicant to fill in Acknowlegement card (to let you know they have paperwork) Envelope to send it back Form 101 Police Records check ($43, copy of driving licence) Checklist is pretty straight forward Visa Applicant details Dependants who migrated with you Sponsor Details Any travel out of the country (I had three weeks back in UK at Christmas) Children born after visa grant not previously included on your visa application Any additional information Then you need Statutory Declaration from Sponsor (form supplied) Statutory Declaration from the Applicant (form supplied) Copies of documentation to evidence changes since visa application lodgement (for example if your passport has changed or been extended please enclose a copy of the bio-data page from your new passport) If you have lived in Australia for a total of more than 12 months in the last 10 years you need to have a Federal Police Clearance Certificate (form supplied) Things were easy to do, for our statutory declarations, we found a Justice of the Peace online and he came to our house signed it and would not except any payment for it. Sent documents by express post on 15/12/08 Received Visa Grant Letter back in January Now have Permanent Visa Labels in mine and my daughters passport:v_SPIN::v_SPIN:, Citizenship just 18 months away. Regards Sandra

  10. Hi We came over on 3 January so you can imagine we had all our xmas presents which was brand new and some was unopened. As boxes were packed and picked up on 30th Dec, most of the presents went into container and we just ticked under 1 year old and in comments put that they were xmas presents. None of those boxes were opened. Kids had to wait 3 months to play with some of their presents Regards Sandra
  11. Hi Everyone Looking to move to Flagstaff Hill soon and looking to possibly change our internet and phone from Bigpond (Liberty 12GB) and Telstra home phone. We dont have any issues with these providers (apart from when we move), but would like to either go wireless or change supplier for a cheaper option. We would just forget the phone, but I need to phone UK as my Dad and sister are not computer minded and dont fancy using mobile. Could you let me know which provider you use and how good the supplier or pm me with any other comments/ones to avoid. Thank you Sandra

    Mozzies

Hi Whenever we get bitten by mozzies and my partner who works around pools does often, we use a mozzies clicker, which we bought last xmas from boots when we went back to uk for a holiday. You just click the bite a couple of times and it stops the itching, we have seen them in chemists here now. Regard Sandra
  18. Hi I will second Little Footprints, smaller scale than Play n Fun and they also have a limit of children so does not get overcrowded. My daughter has had two parties there and everyone had great fun (first year I invited the whole class:wacko:). Regards Sandra
  19. Hi there Sorry to hear about your accident, and dont quote me on this, but surely you would claim from the taxi driver as he would have to have public liability insurance and his insurance would claim on the person behind and so on, eventually the driver who was not concentrating would cop the lot including the insurance company charges. This happened to my partner in the UK and this is what happened. Hope you feel better Sandra
  20. Hi It can only help to have a joint account to prove that you are together, I have just got my PR and I am on a Spouse/De Facto Visa. We had to do another statutory declaration and state how bills/household chores/responsibility for children were shared between us. HIFX will set up a joint bank account if you are transferring any money. Regards Sandra
  21. Hi I have AVG Firewall and have added Skype and now its working Thank you Sandra
  22. Hi I wonder if anyone could advise me what is wrong with my internet, I am trying to connect Skype and update a critical update but every time I try it tells me I am not connected to the internet and try again later, but I am connected to the internet. Thank you Sandra
  23. I'm sorry Sue, but I disagree with you on this. Is the medication free in the UK, I dont think so, when I was long term sick attending a hospital in the UK, I could get a prescription for 5 or 6 items per visit (some times weekly visits), I didnt get help then so whats different now. I also had to arrange for transport to and from the hospital, when I couldn't drive (hospital was in a different city). I dont know what the price of prescriptions are now, but back in 1992 they were about 5.00GBP per item, which being on long term sick it was difficult to afford too (no help then). Here at least the pharmacy will suggest a cheaper alternative if they can, I have always found them very helpful. Sandra
  24. Thank you Russell, that seems a long time ago now, I cant believe it was just 2 years ago Also thanks to Justin and Cazzie for their posts Regards Sandra
  25. Hi Sharon It was really easy, in Oct I rang to find out what I had to do (Visa was granted in Oct 2006) and she asked if I had received a letter from them, I hadnt so she sent it out. The paperwork then needed to be done within two months of receiving it and you cant leave the country while it was being processed. I did ring them with a question and asked how long it would take to process and they said 3-6 months. Had to apply for a AFP clearance certificate (Australian Federal Police) which took couple of weeks, then there was two Statutory Declarations (myself/partner (sent form to fill in)) and then sent it back express post on 14 Dec. They sent back confirmation of receipt on 15 Dec and received letter today, very quick I think. Very happy now Sandra
