  5. Me and the wife (Vicki) are 38 and my daughter Lauren is 9 going on 19. We keep looking at the houses on au properties. The problem is when we started looking the exchange rate was around $2 to the pound and know its about $1.60 .Just hope it rises before we get there, if not we may rent a little longer than we anticipated. I suppose we were like everybody else looking at houses with pools and big back yards, never mind though it still looks for better than Maningham.

  16. Hi all I am sitting my practical test next month and would love to emigrate to Adelaide, particular around Port Noaralunga, Happy Valley or Christies area. I hold my nvq level 3 papers along with assessors papers and have run my own business for the last nine years. Probably been a bit cheeky but does anyone know of a building company that is willing to sponsor qualified bricklayer with bags of experience and knowledge. Like I said probably been a bit cheeky but if you don't ask you don't get . Good luck to the rest of you construction lads that have made the move.
  17. THIS IS AN ACCURATE REPRESENTATION OF THE CITY I LIVE IN WHICH IS BRADFORD AND PROBABLY OUR MAIN REASON FOR EMIGRATING TO ADELAIDE. ALTHOUGH THIS IS ONLY A PERSONAL OPINION AND PROBABLY NOT ACCURATE OF ALL AREAS. PERSONALLY I FEEL WE ARE TAXED MORE THAN EVER AND YET WE GET LESS SERVICES FOR MORE COST AND IS ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE IN THE FUTURE.
  18. Cheers mark for the reply at least i know what to expect when we arrive. Hope all goes well for you all. The wages sound ok pretty much the same as uk. We all look forward to arriving feel like we are wishing our lives away. All the best trev vicki and lauren.
