  1. We checked out Hertz when we went back last year - the com.au site was miles cheaper than the co.uk site. I think a wagon was GBP 200 but we got it for $66 !!! Not sure about the other big companies but worth checking out! Lea
  2. Try John Wickham - check out his website too - www.ctsjw.com.au - he is also at Hallett Cove - up near the mall. He managed to salvage all of our data and photos when our hard drive went. Highly recommended. Lea

Hi I just looked on the CFS website - it tells you what you can and can't do - have a look here http://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/site/fire_restrictions/what_can_i_do_what_cant_i_do.jsp Lea
  6. We used Cash Passport recently on a trip to Singapore. Very easy to arrange at the post office and can top up by BPAY from here if necessary. Lea

  9. I have been lucky enough to cuddle a baby wombat, someone from Fauna Rescue brought one to a scout event once. May be worth contacting Fauna Rescue to see if they can help. Lea
  10. Edwardstown is quite industrial and as Anne B says has Main South Road running through it but only a couple of streets back will be nice quiet residential streets. (Always surprises me how quiet those side streets are). Renting may offer no problems but if you later on look to buy there have been issues with pollution from its industrial past. I would suggest you google the area to find out more. As for areas, I would rent a furnished rental for the first few weeks when you get here, drive around and find areas you like before looking for something long term to avoid being stuck for 6-12 months in an area you don't like. 11. We got ours from Bunnings, still waiting for it to grow big enough to flower...
  12. Try these guys . http://www.parcel2go.com, have also used Interparcel.com in the past. Hope this helps Lea

  17. My daughter goes to Braeview and loves it (has been there from Reception and is now in Year 2). Lots of support from the teaching staff, they also have special programmes for children with mobility, communication issues. Parents and staff are friendly and supportive to new children. They have also recently had a lot of investment from the government so have new classrooms and are currently looking at setting up a Stephanie Alexander Garden. Hope this helps Lea

    Mylor Fireworks

I emailed the school and got the reply this morning. It costs $15 for 2 adults and 3 kids or $7 an adult at $3 per child under 18. Lea
  19. Hi He can certainly put down Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) but would suggest he look at gaining his Licences. Bear in mind Adelaide may not be your best choice in this line of work as jobs are few and far between ( have known several people return home due to not getting work). Check out careerone.com.au and seek.com.au to look at job vacancies. Cheers Lea
  20. Just bumping this up as still available.

  23. My daughter goes to Braeview and absolutely loves it. Can't fault the school it has several special programs for kids who need support in their learning. Have a look on their website and give them a call to chat with the principal. http://www.braeview.sa.edu.au/Braeview/welcome.html Lea
  24. I think they were going to stay put in Qld for a while - she used to be on another forum but it seems to have closed. (Was just checking it!) Be interested to see if she is OK. Also do you remember a girl called Claire who was having problems passing the medicals as her young son had eye problems? I wonder if she ever got here? Last I heard they were trying for SS to Canberra. Lea
  25. Hi Diane, Think it was Sasha - she of millions of posts!!! Last I heard they were building a house in Tropical North Queensland but haven't heard from her for at least 2 years. I have been wondering if she and her family are OK what with the floods and cyclone. Lea
