    Qualified Plumber - Immigration options

Thanks for the advice... He's not in a rush to get over, but the idea is that he has something to work towards. i.e. getting a few years experience under the belt
  2. Hi All, My cousin has just become a qualified plumber and has been working as an apprentice for the past 2 years. What sort out chances / options does he have available to him in terms of immigrating to Australia? Cheers, Robbie
  3. Out of interest, is it in the Brighton High school zone? Also, what is the weekly rental?

    primary school

My daughter turns 4 in July, but only starts school in 2016. We decided to send her to one of the state primary schools closest to us, which are Flagstaff, Craigburn or Aberfoyle Primary. We figure that if we are going to spend money for her education, it would be better spent on a good high school. We also like the idea of her going to school nearby our home as im sure most of the kids she will go to school with will also live nearby.
  6. I would be interested... you got any further details?

    Adelaide’s most family-friendly suburb

I think this article is more of a “guideline” and works on averages and generalizations.. For example.. You might find generally.. Families like to own their own homes (offers stability, allows for modifications around the house, easier to have pets etc).. The average size family (with kids) has 2-3 children, therefore the would need a home with 3-4 bedrooms.. The average size family home would need to be on a certain land size (you cant have a 3-4 bedroom home on a 200sqm block of land).. Then would come the financial side of things, where… The average family would be able to afford a certain mortgage amount. Remembering that having kids reduces the amount you can borrow as well as your disposable income (we all know that though).. Based on what the average family can afford to buy AND what the average family would be looking to buy (3-4 bedroom home), you can then narrow suburbs down a bit.. Once you have suburbs in mind, you look at things like.. number of schools in the area, demographics, parks and facilities, shopping centres, closeness to beach, closeness to parents employment (generally being the city) etc.. It was these sorts of parameters (as well as the financial items i mentioned), which attracted me to the Aberfoyle Park/Happy Valley/ Flagstaff Hill suburbs. So when you look at the list of Adelaide suburbs mentioned, you can see why they would appeal to the average family. Of course, its not a “one size fits all”, but more of a generalisation based on averages

I recently used a mechanic in the Pasadena / Panorama area... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Send me a PM if you would like his details.
  12. Hi Robbiep,

May I ask how are you finding Wanslea childcare? Are your children happy there? Do you and your partner have any concerns about the place?

I'm thinking of sending my daughter there and they are the only one who has vacancy at the last minute whereas lots of others that I've called don't have any vacancy!

    Thanks heaps for the reply!

  13. Hi guys, I was just wondering if there are any soccer clubs in Aberfoyle Park or surrounds? Cheers, Robbie
  14. So far we have planned the below.. 1: Blessed Cheese - Get some cheese and freshly baked bread in the area 2: Fox Creek - picnic / brunch / share a bottle of wine 3: Cellar Doors (Gemtree, Goodiespon Brewery, Penny Hill) 4: Late lunch BBQ at Maximus OR Wirra Wirra 5: Cellar doors (Samuels Gorge,Chapel Hill) Any preferences for a lunch time BBQ? Maximus OR Wirra Wirra? Should make for a good day out:)
  15. After all the great suggestions we have decided to "make a day of it" and visit a number of wineries.. instead of doing the one big expensive visit to D'Arenberg... the money can used to buy plenty of wine at other wineries We will take the kids along, so will try visit a few wineries that allow you to bring your own food for a picnic / bbq
