this is a very interesting post to me , since am struggling placing even an interview in Adelaide since I arrived 2 months ago. Not even a single interview in my job core , even failed to place an odd job. Now, am thinking to leave SA and go to another regional area in another state before my money finish Can u suggest which state is having more regional job opportunities? Am hesitant between QLD , WA or NSW? Can u please help. Am an HR and adminsitrative person btw.

am with you in same boat..arrived early November.. failee to place any casual job ..not even a single interview! So afraid to spend all my savings .. Job market in adelaide is really not so positive right now.. keep posting suggestions here guys.. we might help each other in a way or another

Hi Jessica.. You are right.. timining of arrival is not really helping in the matter of finding a job.. However, am still not sure why am not able to get one interview request in casual positions or survival jpbs though .. if you can advise us how we can find one till start of February will be a great help to us.

Hi, I am in the same boat..489 visa.. my search ended up that we I search for job on other regional areas in different states (as per immi post codes in their website). As am almost here for a month and failing daily to place any job in adelaide, am looking to move interstate now. I was advised to inform SA government by all rejections i received and also a job offer in another state from a regional employer will do the release requirement. Best of luck.. i hope somebody can help in this thread

Hi All.. Same here.. I reached adelaided 3 weeks ago.. sumbitted more than 65 applications for my core job in HR or/and Administration and mostly no feed back and few had the courtesy to reject my application.. I also failed to place a casual or a job in retail till now .. hopefully things become better soon ?

Hi Abhijit, I would love to come earleir of course.. but Unfortunately I can't do it earlier.. I heard the same as well.. and also will be a bit of a challenge to secure a long term rental.

This is a very useful thread to me personally.. am doing the required homework now on where to settle in Adelaide ( am granted 489).. and I found that Brighton and surroundings will be very suitable to us (considering schools).. am now looking for a short stay till we settle for a long stay rental. . Any suggestions? Am checking stayz and Gumtree. . Any other recommendation?

Hi, My job after I lodged in 12/12 got into special condition in SA. Co assigned 5/2.. 489 Visa granted on 28/3.. No worries :-) relax and u will get ur grant soon
