Hi Patience, I totally understand where you are coming from. We have been here over 9 years and found it extremely hard to make friends. This is the first time I have used sites to make friends. I have two girls aged 5 and 2 and live in Seaford rise. I would love to meet up with you and other mums in the area. How old are your children?

I'm with ROCK UP here, we are not asking you SNIFTER, we are just posting a simple request for information! the link you direct us to SNIFTER is the 2012 schedule which lists upto Jan 2013 which is useless really along with the referal to LEDGES etc as they do not give any current information. It does however mention that some 20-40 people attend and that new people come along all the time, so would like to know how we too can join these new people? surely some of the 20-40 attendees read these pages and could offer some info!

So again if there is anybody out there whom could confirm details of the meet this weekend then let the whole PIA know so new people can com along!!

Regards Keith & Linda

I was giving you information. If you didn't read it or take it on board when you did, not much I can do about that. As it stands the people who organise appear to not be around to reply here atm. If you read the other thread there are a couple of numbers listed for people to contact re the meet ups. Its the same number as given in this thread. Someone could always phone and enquire and post back here for others.

Often the meet up info is posted the day before the meet up, not a week ahead. Sometimes even on the day itself its posted as a reminder.

They usually move indoors over the winter months due to weather but it may be there is a new venue this month. Often the meet up info isn't reposted every month as a given if its in the same place. Its where it is, people pitch up.

If you want to arrange to meet up at the outdoor location with others, nothing stopping you. The regular meet up may take place there but it may be its at an indoor venue and may well be posted about over the weekend itself.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the lack of info for this month...I've been waiting to see how wet it was going to be. Looking at it this am I think we've done the last beach meetup now until October again. Every year we ajourn from the beach around May/June.

We can offer a meetup at our house this month. It's very easy to find and plenty of parking but a bit of a drive for some of you as we're just before you get to Goolwa. It'll be warm and dry and cheap though (no need to buy stuff from a coffee shop etc). We also have animals to keep the kids occupied (even the older ones) so come on down. We'll fire up the barbie too.

Time: from 2pm to 5pm

Address: 85 Airport Road, Goolwa.

Directions: If you have a Tom Tom just put in Goolwa Airport...we;re next door....for those who don't here are my easy to follow directions - Main South Road (A13), follow road to McLaren Vale/Victor Harbour, keep on past McLaren Vale, past Aldinga and Willunga. Up the big hill through Mount Compass, after mount Compass Turn off at the Goolwa sign (Goolwa Mount Compass Road), carry on all the way to the end of that road, then nearly there..turn right towards Goolwa an then next right (Airport Road...follow blue sign for the airport), pass 1st house on left...(our's is the next No85) If you get to the airport you've just passed us). Unhook the gate and drive slowly down the drive..come round to the back door...wear wellies /boots if its still rainy.

It'll be great to see you.

Caroline and Allan

Hi all for the meet-up, thanks for the info and invite Blackledges but Goolwa would be over double the distance for us to drive, along with the short notice, we will sadly have to give it a miss this time, but would really have liked to meet a large diverse group of people, hopefully next time!

Rock up, we will be heading towards p Noaralunga tomorrow so hope to see you and anyone else at the Jetty around 3.00pm.

Regards to all Keith & Linda

Hi ROCK UP, must have missed you somehow yesterday, we met Pam and her dog, and said hi to a few other people there but no response as to if they were there for a meet up. Had a stroll along the beach with Pam then to her home to meet husband and kids and have a lovely cup of tea, it was nice to have the chance to have a chat with and meet new friends.

We may catch up with you and a few others at the next monthly meet-up in July.

Hi Guys, Looking to confirm the demand for a meetup today so if you want a meetup today can you please ring by 1pm. I don't want to travel all the way unless people are wanting to meet. Allan will answer...looking forward to meeting any oldies or newbies. If you don't call just assume the meetup won't be happening to save any confusion. Caroline

Hi sithewindows, thats just about the response myself and others got when we asked about the regular 1st sunday of the month meet-up. the sticky thread is stuck down solid, posting info on the day or day before does not give people chance to make arrangements. So I do not even look for or ask about that one anymore. keep a watch out for other meets which happen occasionally.

 expect the 'boardgame cafe' may well be the new meeting venue:skeptical:.

I take it, that's a no then?

The people who organise the monthly meet up have moved and are now much further away from where they used to take place. It being winter the meet ups appear to have gotten quieter as on occasion it has been at a persons house and been too far for some to travel iirc. Or posted about too late for people to plan.

Once they move back outdoors to the beach they are usually well attended as I understand it and go ahead pretty much regardless. Just a case of pitching up on the first Sunday of the month.

If the people who were/are organising the monthly Sunday meet up are busy or unable to make it or don't reply here (they may not post or visit the forum often) just post your own thread or in here and see if anyone else wants to get together. Nothing wrong with others making their own plans for meeting up :)

I did explain a bit above re the winter months and the venue changed and went indoors. The beach meet ups tend to take care of themselves pretty much it seems and are usually well attended. Sometime soon (if the people who organise the Sunday one are still wanting to do it), it'll move back to the beach. If they now live too far away or are busy with other things, perhaps someone else could take up where they left off? I can always drop them a PM and ask. Or other members could.

Someone else could always offer to be the one to post updates about the monthly meet up location (which didn't change for months at the beach location, nor did the time) for new arrivals or those asking questions in this thread. I do my best to try to inform people or point them in the direction of the Black Ledges and so on but beyond that there is not much I can do right now.

The Socialising forum is here to be used and as you've pointed out, posting your own thread asking to meet up with others and so on can be handy and get results.

Hi snifter, I know you are trying to help, but the thread about the 1st Sunday of the month meet-ups you keep refering everyone to is pretty much useless, as it does not give any upto date information, the whole idea of the meet-up threads are for all pia users to see what is going on, sending pm's does not and should not really apply in relation to the questions being asked by some of this sites members, remembering that some new members may not be able to do so and also some members may have elected to opt out of the pm facility.

I can understand the winter location part of it changing but the thread is not giving any new info for all to see on this, and that is one of the reasons why the same questions keep getting asked, and more than likely even stopped others from bothering to ask a question. If the original organisers have now moved on (then I thank them for their time and efforts to date), then maybe that thread needs to be deleted to stop all this confusion, leaving the way clear for a new thread should anyone wish to do so.

Thanks for your time on this snifter. Keith

This thread has replaced the 2012 one for Sunday meet ups. I simply point people to the old thread as it has the location and time for the beach meet up posted in it etc.

Black ledges posted on page one of this thread explaining about the winter meet ups moving and why. And has posted other times since.

I appreciate people want to know about the winter monthly meet ups but ATM it seems to have faltered.

The monthly meet up has always pretty much taken care of itself. Even if the organisers didn't reply to posts asking if there was one this month, they would go ahead. It's just been a long standing thing from what I understand.

I'll drop the organisers a PM later and ask them where things stand and if perhaps we should do away with the old thread and this one and start afresh and perhaps clear up a few things in time for the warmer weather. Will post back here when its all discussed and sorted.

Now off for my day out in London :)
