West Lakes Meet up

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, a few of us are meeting at the West Lakes Hotel next Friday 1st February, I know a few people have posted on here and i said i would organise something. We are a mixed age group of people from 20's up to 50, some with kids, we all met via PIA and come from all over the UK, we even have a Kiwi and now an Aussie (got her citizenship last week) among us, so a right mixed bag.

We've all been in the position of making new friends so are very aware how hard it is, but as someone said before, meet as many as you can and hopefully you'll find the people that become your support network over here. We do loads of things together but there is never any pressure, we've just been to the england cricket :( pool bbq's, girls nights out, pilates, and fishing at semaphore, camping trips, beach picnics with games of cricket and volleyball, so if you've got kids thats fantastic as most of us hate having to chase the ball and the kids have tonnes of energy lol, we'll be going to the fringe, winnerys and a trip to Bali, the more of us the more ideas we get.

SORRY EVERYONE ITS FRIDAY which is the 31st Jan not 1st Feb - oops

I've seen a few post from people from the West lakes area and contacted a couple and said i would arrange something but everyone from anywhere, single or couples are welcome to join us. This is the hardest step but come along we are really friendly and you never know you might make the lasting friendships that we have.

Hi, probably more of an adults, but i can check about kids, sure they are allowed as they've got a restuarant , so don't want to put anyone off if they've got children because its probably difficult to get a sitter if you don't know anyone, not a problem with us if children come along the more the merrier.

P.S. Couple of our lot come from wales, 1 from Barry and one the Rhonda Valley (I think thats how you spell it)

hi Debbie,

iv iv been here 6 months now and have just started to feel the hole in my life where my friends were back in the UK. I'm here with my husband I'm 26 and he is 30. What you have achieved sounds wonderful. I am struggling to make friends of a similar age and like minded. I would love to come on February the 1st but I am working which is a shame. Please would you keep me updated in any events you may be arranging in future? I'd be forever grateful.

Hope to speak soon.L.

Hi everyone, great so many want to come along, thinking we'll go for around 7.30 at the bar at the back overlooking the lake, meet at the high tables (you understand when you get there). You can have as many or as few as you like, they also do food. If anyone wants my mobile PM me.

Can't wait to meet everyone

Debbie

Hey Debbie,

We cant make it this time which is a shame but are always looking for these kind of meet ups as we enjoy making new friends. Can you let us know about any other events and hopefully we can make it next time.

Cheers Leon and Jess

Hi Debbie

My husband and I are new to PomsInAdelaide and just saw your post about a meet up at West Lakes. If there's anything being organised again soon we'd love to come along. We've been here since August last year so we're at that stage where we need to start socialising again after the whirlwind of emigrating!

Thanks, Claire
