Anyone any idea what type of bird this is?

My cat brought this in this morning although it seems pretty intact it can't fly very far. I'm presuming it's young but it's parents aren't around. I'm taking it to Fauna Rescue later. Just wondering what type of bird it is I thought it was a sparrow but it's the wrong colour I think

No I think from googling it was probably a weebill, sadly it died before we got it to Fauna Rescue

Cute? It looks evil and has killers eyes. Give it back to the cat and get it told to finish the job.

 

 

edit - Just saw it died and feel slightly guilty. But you can relax in the knowledge that it would have grown up to be a bird serial killer.
