  1. Nanny SA can provided after school Nannies. They charge around $35 an hour, min 3 hours. The same as all the agencies charge.
  2. I stayed at the Oaks Goldsborough appartments and was the worst place I have ever stayed. Never again :-(
  3. I am looking for a Handyman that can carry out some general repairs inside my home and tidy the garden. For the sale of my property. Please PM me.
  4. Gosh, are there any Aussie kids in the Hallett Cove Schools? It must be like little Britain :-)
  5. St Peters Woodlands is a fantastic school and both my children attend there. A lot of UK people I know have been unhappy with the public schools in Glenelg and the surrounding areas and have moved their children to our school. But its obviously individual preference.
  6. Hallett Cove Beach, is only good for walking a dog and looking for crabs with the kids. Beware of the blue ringed octupus's, as I have see many and they are deadly. You have to go further South, to Port Noarlunga or the other way to Seacliff for the nice sandy beaches.
  7. This is only what private schools do already here and is less disruptive for Reception children, having only one intake a year.
  8. I have travelled the World and I have to say Adelaide is not one of the most exciting places to live !!
  9. I believe the rule are if you have been out of the Police service in the UK for over a year and attempt to join SAPOL, that no previous service is recognised and you are required to go through the same training as the local recruits in SA.
  10. 1973 Policing "Life on Mars" can describe SAPOL's Policing. But it's a great opportunity to emigrate to Australia, with SAPOL, for the way of life and not so much the job.
  11. Have you not tried asking your sons school for further assistance?

    Gas Bill?

My last gas bill was $65 but the winter one this week was $320.Its the same each year. We have had a cold winter and had the heating on morning and night !
  13. Think you had a lucky escape, I was a Cop in the UK for many years and wouldn't join SAPOl as they are like "Life on Mars" Most people come over for the life style with SAPOL not the career.
  14. Hi you also have to remember when you transfer over with SAPOL they pay you a very low salary when at the police accademy, I know its not that long but its certainly a shortfall from the Mets wages as we found out !!

    Heart break!!!

I thought he was Gay also !!!
  16. I think they have a Laura Ashley shop at Burnside as driven past this, correct me if I'm wrong !
  17. You may find the "Urban Myth" is true/untrue, who knows ?
  18. "but I feel there are far worse offensive things on the tv." You can't get much more offensive than showing killers of a 2 year old boy on TV especially as the killers now live in Australia with a new identity and nice new life ! Maybe they live next door to me or you here in Oz ??

    So many questions!

Yeah my oh is hoping to get a place at sa police. If your hubby transfers to SAPOL he may be sent to the country, or any location in Adelaide as they have to fill the vacancies everywhere. Also bear in mind the Police accademy is near Port Adelaide (Taparoo) so a long drive from Aldinga each day.

    Citizenship

I have been waiting for a ceremony since April, unfortunetly the June one was full so have to wait another 3 months !!
  21. I am in the process of joining the Army Reserve (will be a Australian Citizen soon after my ceremony) I was told I couldnt apply until I was in the process of applying for my Citizenship. I have previous Military service from the Uk also.
  22. PM me if you require any further information !
  23. Im just taking my kids out of Seaview Downs school as not happy with it !!
  24. Can I use a restraint from overseas? Only restraints that meet the Australian Standard for child restraints can be used legally in Australia. It is also illegal to sell or hire restraints that do not meet at least the 1991 version of this standard. Australian Standard restraints can be identified in two major ways. Firstly they all fasten to the vehicle not only by means of the seat belt, but also by means of a tether strap that is attached to an anchor fitting bolted into and anchorage point in the vehicle. Secondly they carry an Australian Standards Mark sticker marked AS 1754. This sticker is a guarantee that the product will provide the best protection possible from injury in a crash if it is correctly installed and used.
  25. Oh I wanted Sharif to win it !!! Im sure Bob will win then, if he is in the final. I remember going out in a bar in Adelaide City and seeing 2 of the biggest losers finalists from 2007 and I was the same asking them for their autographs, they enjoyed the attention as the show had finished.
