I went through TRA and then to Peer to get my trades cert for Unrestricted electrical licence. Contact peer Veet they will be able to assist you they have for all my trades licences.

How big is the house this will depend on the duty and price???? Also make will be a factor.. But as Bergkamp 10 says evaps don't work well in humid conditions.

Hi as they have said in previous threads. You do require licences to carry out most trades. You may be lucky and be able to work as a trades assistant (less pay). Bring out all your certificates and prior learning documents from old employers signed! This will help. When you arrive contact. Skill assist. I think it is called,they should be able to point you in the right direction I came over on a 176 visa PR. Trade :-air con took a while to get licence managed to get trades assistant job This helped with licences. Then waited a year to do my electrical unrestricted licence. It takes a long time and you think your getting no where, but it all comes together in the end and is worth it.

I went to Peer Veet last year and completed my AS3000 for an unrestricted licence. Cost $690 for the course and $610 for all the books. You could only attend when your had written to TRA with your prior learning and given a certificate. The course was 7 days lots of assessments, class room work and home work. Needed to read up on the AS3000 before I went which helped. Peer Veet have helped me with gaining the Australian Trades for both A/C refrigeration and Electrical, I have also been back for day courses etc. A great trade school. Best of luck guys. Seaford is a lovely area, close to many beaches and shops. The railway is also beening built and will be finish next few years I think. A lot more built up now.

Hi we booked through Century 21. the address was Unit 6/9 aldinga beach road, Aldinga sa5173 This was a lovely rental all the amenities, close to beach (one road back) and close to shops and eateries, quite far from City but we found it a great place to start.

Hi, Have been meaning to sit and write something since being hear after a month but time flys and so much to do. Well we arrived on October 22nd 2011, we had booked a 5 week rental in Aldinga, a rental car for 3 weeks (so we thought) pick up from airport. Once we started to get over jet lag we needed to get the ball rolling Nik had a list Medicare, Centrelink, TFN, Health insurance. We spent lots of time going around and getting these sorted as well as the other list we had look at Long term rentals, buy a Car, get a Job and find a school(s) for kids. we slowly but surly ticked these off one by one. Found long term rental in Seaford Meadows we managed to have a week over lap from our holiday rental to long term rental and with in that week our shippment arrived and deliverd out to us so when we moved in we had all our stuff which made it home. We bought a 4x4 in the third week and thought we could take the rental car back early only to find out that we only rented the car for two Oop's rental company fine they had my credit card Applied for Jobs, went for an interveiw. At the interveiw I explanded my situation of not being in the country that long and had not had time to change my Qulifications over to AU certs and that I was in the process of doing this. I felt the interveiw went well and the next day I was offered a job as a trades assistant which I took. Well I found that getting my trades changed over was stessfull If I went down TRA route it could take up to 3months then I would need to apply for a licence with artick which would take more time. Tafe were not interested (did not have agreement with vettesses). Peer were not sure of the process but looked into it for me and eventuly were able to run me through the program, trades tests and assesments to gain my Cert 3 in refrgeration. I was then able to apply for my licence all took around 3 months. I also applied for electrical cert B licence, Once I gained these. hard work began. Well not really We work a 38 hour week some overtime (better than the Uk 50-60hours week) and pay better than UK. Got James in to school at Seaford Rise Primary Jemma going to Seaford 6-12 they are both getting on really well and have made lots of friends. Nik is looking for a job but cant find anything with hours to suit so at the moment so is helping doing voluntary work. Well over the summer/xmas we spent plenty of time exploring the City surrounding suburbs, Victor Harbour, Murry Bridge all amazing places. The summer days were the best getting back from work and still having time to meet up with Nik and the kids on the beach or fishing, bike riding, surfing all things I would of not had time for back in the UK. weekends down on Silver sands, South port, Norlunga beach so many places to go and see. We have had a visitor from the Uk back in March when Niks Mum came to visit and it was great to show her around and show her the the things we had fallen in love with, Niks Mum also fell in love with place and now is looking in to getting a visa to move over. We came over as a family of four No other family or friends in Australia. when we talk to family back home we get asked. do we regret the move? my answer not one bit!. We have made good friends, We get on well with the people at work the kids have made freinds and are happy. Its not been easy but its been worth it.

Morning Came over 6 months ago on a 176 visa, had job offers in the 1st week, The hardest thing was getting trades changed from UK to AU qulifications. worked as a trades assistant for a while, once I had all my licences theres been no looking back. Take on whats put in front of you and do it with a smile you'll go along way.

Welcome, Hope you settle as qucik as we have, Arrived 21/10/2011. There does seem to be alot to do and it all seems to be needed to be done now. We bought a wireless dongal pay as you go over the counter up and running in the hour, yhe down load you get depends on the amount you pay $30 to $150 from 30 days to 12 mounths. Ok but can be costly.

Hi, We used the forum for Q&A before coming over and it is still a big help, Since coming 2 mths ago we've been flat out with sort every thing out. now have 12mth rentle in Seaford Meadows. Internet costs a bit to well when you skype with video calls. I do tend to PM more now and dont post many theads (not that i did in the 1st place) but I will get around to posting about our 1st 2 mth in SA soon. Many Thank to you all.

Hi All Just wounderd if anyone Knows of any rentals in Seaford Meadows or Aldinga. We are a family of 4 and are looking for a 4 bed room unfurnished property for 12mths. have looked on real estate au and most other sites our holiday rental has 2 weeks left and we cant find anything we like or we have missed our chance and its rented. Hi Just a note to say that we leave for Aldinga on the 18th Oct arriving 20th. We have a 5 week holiday rental which should give us time to sort out most things. It has been a long and very bumpy ride for us, as for many people on hear. I'm sore that the adventure is just begining. So let the roller coaster ride start again. Anyone know of Air conditioning jobs out there let me know:smile:

Hi I have just steam cleaned all my fishing kit and washed every thing over with jeyes fluid. Also steam cleaned tools and washed with jeyes. When we had quotes from our shippers they asked if we were taking garden furniture and that it would need a good clean, power wash and disinfecting. But still would be left up to customs. Every thing is packed and listed and customs can pick out what they want or all of it. Wooden items, bikes and out door items are usually hi-lighted. This is what I am led to believe by my removal company. Shippers can advise when they come around for a quotation visit. All the best
