Hi i'm at West Lakes and had a terrible time getting broadband - not a single company could provide exept the one where you put the system on the roof. Optus now do a 4G mobile internet thingy .. works on the mobile phone network - just a box that you plug into the power and off you go .. its $70 for 50g which is expensive - but after a year and a half having only a dongle and going over my mobile phone data EVERY month, it was like manna from heaven for me! The guys in the shop were very helpful (if you go in... ask the bigger guy .. he knows most!) good luck Ails

Hi Once you've started teaching you can complete a form to get you onto the correct pay scale. You need evidence from all of your schools. It is called salary reclassification. Really straightforward and they backdate it too to the first day you worked for DECD! http://www.decd.sa.gov.au/hrstaff/pages/employmentconditions/wages/?reFlag=1 end of page has salary reclassification info. cheers Ails

Hi I am leaving my rental in West Beach on 6th June because I have bought my own house . The landlords are excellent and live just behind the house - any problems they have fixed immediately but they are also no bother and leave me alone. It is not advertised yet and will prob be a private rental -opens will be weekend of 24th May. Hi Debz TRT will be slow at the moment because teachers are fit and well! Once you have your authority to teach and TRB certificate, just call up all your local schools (including Catholic schools) and ask them how you can register with them .. they will invite you in - sometimes the DP might want to meet you to suss you out but not always! Agencies just take all your money. Tell schools you are happy to teach 6/7 because those slots are harder to fill with good teachers ... Say yes to half days (to 12 and from 12, not like home ...) go into the staff room even if you are scared(!) and chat as much as possible. This all worked for me 4 years ago where I was turning away work and has worked for me since I came back last year. I now have a year contract in a great school in a year 7 class... It is not luck .. you have to put yourself out there a bit, but it does pay off.. good luck Ails

I was at West Lakes yesterday. Had a coffee on the run and then had a muse around the new section that had opened. Shopped and bought a few gifts for Christmas (I know.... but the offers were VERY good) and then was rushing to get finished before the mall closed at five. We spent about four hours there and had the mall been open longer, it would have been more. Didn't even do any food shopping, had no lunch or sit down at all. We did not have to pay because I think it is free for a while - but ... how to pay. where to pay, what to pay and what to do in general if you go over 3 hours was very unclear ... Not great in my opinion - four hours would be better - I bet the businesses in the food hall will suffer hugely because of this ... Ails

Only used 5 times no rips or mould ,clean and tidy,good condition. 12oz walls 15oz roof .comes with fly screen walls and canvas walls for annexe (12x 7 ft) , annexe floor, 4.5kg gas bottle holder and 2 battery holders. Hi all an update.... my container arrived last Thursday (took approx 10 weeks from pick up) and was unpacked by Wridgeways. So far everything seems great - no damages, breakages or problems that I have come across. The guys both sides of the move were great and took care of my things.
