Seat reclining on aeroplanes

It's obvious I don't need to post much anymore, others have taken over my position of most annoying people (or wind up merchants) on the forum.

For the record I wouldn't pay for business class, but if comfort was of real importance, I would stop somewhere for a night or 2, and break the journey, it's a lot cheaper than an upgrade. As for using airmiles, I would prefer to use mine for extra free trips or pay for my family, not so I can get extra luxury. A flight is only ever 12 or 13 hours at a time, to me it's not worth thousands of dollars extra (when paying yourself).

As a frequent flyer I use the lounge at Dubai, I am only at the airport for 2 hours, but a shower, and a meal, and a lie down on a comfy chair refreshes me no end for the second leg.

I've not made myself clear - I would never recline during the meal, but if I was asleep and already reclined I wouldn't want to be woken up - especially not when travelling with kids.

OK Gus as common courtesy if you had a sleeping child on your lap then I would probably not have you woken up, if only you in the seat then you would be woken up, if not by the attendant then by seat turbulence.

Hi SWMBO, are you talking in the singular here or as a family of 4 or more?. Also are you talking of a single income for a couple or family or just the singular again? I am sure some of the family members on here would like to know how to fly business class all the time.

Also for my future reference does bulkhead seating really make any difference in business class on long haul flights?

Single income family with 4 adults as my kids are adults .I buy and use US airmiles so it works out to be not to bad.Visit another expat website and look for the long running thread on US airmiles.

As to Bulkhead seating I love the fact that no one is in front and I can get up and stretch on a long flight.

Quantas' take on reclining seats and those who feel they have the right to tell others what do:

The ability to recline your seat is something all our customers value & we wouldn't support any measures to restrict that.

I like the one where you bribe the child $5.00 to not recline....must have been a Yorkshire man though...I think the going rate is higher...

Oi!!!!

That is far too much for a bribe!!!:tongue::tongue:
