You need to list all the visas you have held in Australia if there's space for that. You answer yes and if the visa was granted whilst you're in Australia, the date of arrival on that is the date of grant. If you had a previous visa, the end date for that is the grant date of the new visa. However, if you have to list the visa you used to come to Australia, arrival date is the first time you used the visa to enter Australia and not it's grant date. Hope that helps.

@JayK I only hold 489 by which I arrived Australia and my wife holds 489 subsequent.  Do I have to mention my 489 visa details and date I entered Australia and for my wife also date of entry in Australia?? Please advise

Oh mate, 489 lets you travel in and out of Australia, so I don't see anything wrong with that?!

@dhle what I am saying is I am not coming to Australia. I am already in Australia.  Just curious to know what did you put in when filling out the online application for 887?

  3. @Yuvi I am filling out the online application for 887 and came through this question :-

Have you or any person included in this application previously been to Australia, held or currently hold a visa for travel to Australia?

What should I answer to this?

I only had 489 since I arrived in Australia in 2017 and my wife has 489 subsequent entrant visa. No other visa.  The last bit "hold a visa for travel to Australia "" is confusing. We are already in Australia

Its quite a simple question isn't it? And I think you already answered it yourself. You hold 489 and your wife hold 489, then say yes and give the details of that?!! Or what are you confusing?

@Akie please check out the tracker in the link above, this will give you a fair idea of what is going on.

Current processing times sit at 19-22 months according to website of Department of Home Affairs.

But there is a trend that people do get contacted for the first time (which could result in a direct grant) around 13-14 months.

Please make sure that you have submitted all necessary documents in your application in order to achieve a direct grant from first contact. If you need to supply more documents, you're usually up for another 3-4 months.

@Stellajane I am currently in the process of compiling all the docs together and will upload them immediately after I apply. What do u guys receommend me in uploading AFP ? Should I upload AFP immediately after I apply or after 2-3 months of application?  Also is my wife's name needed on all the bills and everything ?

@Yuvi. What is the status showing in the immi account? Is it showing received or anything else? Any case officer contact?

Well I can't say anything on this I am still waiting for my grant. The only thing I am doing is to update all the relevant docs time to time. Rest it's all up to CO. Nobody knows the fact.

    Good luck

@Yuvi when did you apply?  Did you upload afp and pcc immediately after applying?

  10. Question to people who got the Grant !!

Did u get your payslips attested/Certified by JP ?  I changed 1 employer within 2 years. In 1st company i worked for 8 months and now currently working in another company since 14 months full time. I have received salary slips from the accounts dept of the company.  Is it necessary to get the Salary Slips  and Bank statements attested ?

my salary slip shows 164.67 hours per month as I get salary monthly. Is it ok ??  @Simmie

If she stayed in India from June to September, you will need to obtain a new PCC. Suggest to obtain a new PCC somewhere around March 2020. Your application will not be opened in the next 6 month for sure.

I beleive PCC is valid for 1 year and that will complete in june 2020. Should I apply for her new PCC in May 2020 or march ? @Doman

    1. Its always more helpful to add your partner's name in all the documents like lease, electricity bills, bank account etc. Also she can also have individual bills like phone, australian license. etc. which would prove her stay in Australia. Again its not mandatory but joint bills are helpful as these days immigration is scrutinizing all the cases.

    2. PCC is valid for 1 year so please do the math and accordingly apply or not apply for one. If you already have one which is not expired then in my mind its safe to use that.

    Thanks

@Dee Thanks mate much appreciated. I have PM'd you as well . Cheers
