We have friends who have a Son at Golden Grove....... and they are very pleased with the school. It's a lovely area to live..... but not near the beach! Nearest one is Samaphore ......... about 30 mins drive! However, lots of things for an eight year old in that area...... Bowling.... parks.... swim centres and Modbury has a water slide park.... very near to Golden Grove! We are in Banksia... which is also near to GG.... I would ideally have loved to be near the beach... but have to say my Kids are very settled and happy in this area.

we also got ripped off by Agents! They gave us small water bills......during our 12 month rental and then presented us with a whopping bill when we gave up the rental... stating that water charges had risen by 50%. We should have fought it but ended up losing half our bond... then our daughter broke her lease on a rental... and they put the rent price up....and didnt conduct viewings to get new tenants... so they also lost their bond! two agents, two experiences.... sheer conmen! I would say if you have the time and energy then fight it....... we just had too much going on so gave in!
-
We offered three months up front...... and got the rental! I am sure it helps in the decision as the property owner has the final say apparantly.. Also gave us one less thing to think about for - as there are lots of things to sort when you first arrive. Good Luck.......
-
yay....... just up the road from us... we are from Heywood! been here just over 2 years. Got 4 children with us (23), (16) 2 x (15)... where you thinking of settling in Adelaide???
-
pretty much the same thing happened to us when we were looking for rentals...... one was an older property but a big worn looking ..... and it had a pool.... Hubby really wanted it..... but I couldnt see thru the old fashioned look and the kitchen wasnt great... and the new build looked so great.. so we went for the new build. My advice would be to check out the new build... ours had no great insulation so in the winter it was freezing and in the summer it was like a greenhouse... we had no outside covered pergola..which we didnt think about or consider as important and it had no shades over the windows which made the rooms so so hot... just didnt consider those things! we have now bought a house which is an older property and the difference in the heat is unreal... so much more comfortable! So go with what you feel most positive about.. but just check over things carefully.....
