What time does it all kick off and finish? Would love to go it's just a trek from down here!!!

Gates open at 6pm, fireworks at approx 8pm. Close by 10pm. $15 per family. Hopefully wont rain ;-)

I'll find out for you - usually on the weekend of the winter solstice in June though is you want to keep the date free.

Found info, emailed the school - Saturday 22nd June 6pm - 10pm Mylor Oval

Family $15 (2 adults 3 kids)

Adult $7

Child $3

 

Family event food and drink available no byo

Awesome!! Cheers for that.... Last year the fireworks were great with a good atmosphere! Decent night out!

Anyone know what time the fireworks are typically on?

I think usually around 7:30 or 8ish - when my friend that lives up that way is back on FB I'lll ask him. Don't forget to take some marshmallows if you have kids (although they do sell them there) - the note about no BYO above is a new thing from previous years so I'm noty sure if they'll allow them in!

 

Just checked the Mylor Fire Service page and apparently fireworks due at 8. Wellies, hats, scarves and gloves recommended!

Thanks Diane - I only wanted to ask as we live down South and need to be back home not too late. Will try and grab some marshmallows on route think it was no BYO alcohol :-)

Usually finishes up pretty soon after the fireworks - and for us for some reason the drive home always seems shorter than the drive there! Hope you enjoy it... definitely the weather for a huge bonfire!

Seems to get bigger every year, amazing effort for such a tiny school. After the rain the day and night before it wasn't nearly as muddy as I was expecting either, and that fire was fantastic!

We went along (first time) and it was a great night out - lovely big fire, good food, great atmosphere and fireworks were awesome. That's a date for next year

Funny, I was just thinking about this in the shower this morning! Usually it's on the nearest Saturday to the winter solstice, which is June 21st, so as that's a Saturday, I would guess that's the date this year - but when the school is open again on Monday you cuold give them a ring to check for sure.
