  1. Hey all long time no posting! I am interested depending on location. I can also host easily. We are in Panorama nowadays.
  2. 10-14 months???? No way. I applied in Jan this year and got mine by May. Are you sure that's months not weeks?
  3. In time for our trip to the UK I am absolutely Australian now. Citizenship done, got my passport a few weeks ago. Good feeling to have finally finished off all the admin and legal stuff of moving here. Been here 9 years now.
  4. One of my children is our Jacaranda baby. He was born when the Jacarandas were magificent. Special time of year for us.
  5. Hi, we need recommendations for Adelaide removals please. It's being paid for by my husband's employer so we have to obtain 3 quotes. Grace removals are the preferred mover - we can just go with them without getting quotes. If we want a different one we have to get another 2 quotes. I have contacted Kent Removals and Allied Pickford for quotes. Any experience / reviews / thoughts locally on those please? I am interested in moves between suburbs in Adelaide not international to Adelaide (Kent unpacked our stuff from UK for us years ago) and not interstate moves because then obviously there will be other factors. Particularly, how have you found Grace if you have used them? Would love your thoughts please.

  8. Thinking more like birth certs. Can't decide whether to get Aus ones first because they will be quicker. Or uk ones first in case the queen dies, Australia becomes a republic and dual citizenship ceases to be offered.... thoughts????!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I need to do this. I assume all the orig docs have to go to the uk. Dreading sending original docs. I've got all six kids to do two passports for and two kids its first time Aus and uk . Maybe I will embrace this today. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  12. Adventure coming up for us: moving from north adelaide for a temporary adventure in the Barossa for 6 months. Some time in the next month. Not sure how furnished or unfurnished the house will be yet but just organising what I can till I know. Does anyone have packing boxes available please? There's one slightly old post but I thought bearing in mind the age of the post I would post a wanted. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  18. Lovely. I seem to permanently spring clean!!! I'm a declutter and minimalist fanatic and it's essential to keep doing it to stay sane with growing children in a small house!! Have you thought of decluttering? I promise it makes less housework! Here's what's going to charity Tomorrow. I've also cleaned out my homeschool cupboards and listed a fair bit of curriculum for sale... and then been to office works and spent heaps on stationery! I'm very happy with my reduced linen cupboard. We have 3 boys sharing one room and we need to declutter and trim down their games cupboard and personal cupboards. Also have to go through all their wardrobes and turf stuff out for next child down, next season, or donating... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Interesting. We really ought to catch up some time. I think your dh's experience is v different to my Aussie dh's experience moving back home to adelaide. I had thought from memory you were Aussie and him English, the other way round to us but not so then. 8 years here for us now!!! Our experience I think is v similar to yours as a family, about what it's been like to live here. Good to reflect on it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. And support a great cause! https://www.grilld.com.au Just follow the links to polished man, and sign up and opt in to the grilld mailing list in your profile. Make sure you do that. Then you will get an email from grilld tomorrow, with a voucher for a free burger. You will get daily vouchers for the next 3 or 4 days, can't remember what day the promotion finishes. If everyone in your family signs up with their own email address, they will get a voucher each. You just have to know what the cause is for and paint one nail to get the free burger. 1 in 5 children suffers physical or sexual abuse before the age of 18. This is a fundraiser for October to raise awareness and money for 3 great charities. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Maybe we should organise a coffee there sometime for anyone interested. Make the trip worth it and have a catch up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Good idea thanks. Yes friends have offered before and it's the thing to just take cash. Which I do prefer shopping with. I may look in some time soon. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Yes. I'm not brand loyal on the whole or shop loyal either. I suspect that's another reason why it would be fun but not financially worth it. I'll go with a friend when I get an opportunity. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. So my friend got back to me and neither she, nor the other friend who was a member, have renewed theirs. Which tells me what I suspect, that it's not a good enough saving to be worth it. I'd probably be better joining a co-op on Facebook which both of those friends also do. I'm so over Facebook I think that would be a major step backwards but I will think about it. 25. I have a bulk purchasing budget so I save up for things like who gives a crap toilet paper, someone I know is usually doing a mass purchase of that. So yes I'd want to have a set amount aside from our normal grocery budget to buy certain things in bulk that work out cheaper that way. I make all my own bread so if bread flour was good and worth it, I'd buy that for example. We don't have a good amount of storage space in our house, so I couldn't store a years worth of toilet paper for example. We had to minimise our possessions to fit in this house, so we don't have a lot of room for stocking up. Something like pasta: Coles cheapest is so cheap, I wonder whether it's even possible to beat at Costco? Thanks snifter,I will def get along there with a friend and have a look and see what's what. Its a 10 min drive from my house so I shop at Churchill centre anyway, when I'm not paying foodland postcode tax at the end of my street!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
