My hubby sent them an e-mail as when we applied for SS my work experience was still valid and also we submitted our visa application 2 years ago, so they sent an e-mail back stating how they run by DIAC protocol, but, since we have already applied for you visa there maybe some flexibility and they requested proof of our application, so i sent them the e-mail we received upon submitting our application online, and then this morning bingo, Approved.

 

I think im still in shock that something has actually gone our way for once!

Thanks Cara, it's just crazy one minute we are gutted and think it's over then in the next breath they acknowledge that they haven't noticed our visa app and we are off again.

 

This puts me back in the 'checking my visa status' every day again, aaaahhhh i don't know if my nervs can take it.

You know what it's like when you get so far, so often and then the rules are changed it is so frustrating (id also had a rubbish couple of weeks).

i know how you felt sarah, weve been in the system for two years and withe all the changes we seem to have gone to the bottom of the pile each time. the friends we got to know on the wa ss thread are all over there now and when the last change meant we couldent go i felt giving up dident want to talk to anyone ........ then sa opend there smp and i thought dont want to go there, not going....... but little by little i started looking in to it and started thinking it dont look half bad nd now i think it was meant to be and if wa came back i would still choose sa........

Have the documents been received with a date? Asking the obvious I know but just thought us check ad you said it hasn't changed since the day you lodged on line. Remind me when that was?

hi sarah our agent did the online app on the 17 th jan and we sent our docs same day registered post but they got lost and eventually got to agent in oz 8th feb he then sent them reegistered post and they were received on the 10 th feb.

so anyway i came back from holls on the 13th march and checked then and it just said date for online app.... so looked every day no change (and i wasent too sure that it was meant to change) so after all the changes and things getting lost i emailed my agent and asked him if sa have confirmed receipt of docs.......

his reply was im sure everything is ok but will ask for update.........

guess what they said it did get there, but theve lost them any way they have agreed to take photocopies and to keep processing in the order of which i should have been

but it still hasent changed so i will email again on monday if no news by then:arghh:

i feel like im waiting for something to go wrong.....

We also hadn't considered SA, were originally going to Brisbane and then considering Perth & Canberra. Then when smp's were about to come out we applied for SA and now exactly like you we wouldn't want to go anywhere else it looks a lovely place to live, can't wait.

i know how you felt sarah, weve been in the system for two years and withe all the changes we seem to have gone to the bottom of the pile each time. the friends we got to know on the wa ss thread are all over there now and when the last change meant we couldent go i felt giving up dident want to talk to anyone ........ then sa opend there smp and i thought dont want to go there, not going....... but little by little i started looking in to it and started thinking it dont look half bad nd now i think it was meant to be and if wa came back i would still choose sa........

It felt for a long time we were destined not to get anywhere with applying, it took us 3 years to prepare to apply in the first place and within 6 months they began to change the rules.

We originally wanted to go to Victoria as my sister lives there but wiu the changes we became cat 4, we also received SS from WA but then the put the specified visa for the SS on hold so it was another year before the SA SS came along.

 

Like u we knew very little about adelaide but on doing some research have been pleasantly surprised.

My husband asked me this morning is oz still what I want, which it is but I won't believe we are going until we actually get there with all the blocks that keep comic our way.

 

Fingers crossed we are now well on our way xxx

Hope your all well, and having a great weekend, need some advise...... on the SS application did you detail how much you predict you will have or how much your currently have?

 

We detailed how much we predict we will have, and also provided a financial statement detailing how much we currently have, so they could see that it is possible for us to have what we imagine we will within the next year!!

 

SA contacted out agent, asking for confirmation of how much we actually have, as there is conflicting info.... am now really worrying, as our 8 weeks are up on Wednesday!! Our agent emailed them yesterday which was good as SA wanted to know by Monday.

 

Has anyone else had this problem? Am worried this may go against us??

We only put down what we had and could prove we had.

I think they are looking to see that you will have at least the minimum funds they mention on the SS app notes, If memory serves me right that means $25000 for the main applicant and $5000 for each dependant,

I am starting to worry now, as we currently have slightly less than that! heres hoping they approve us
