Hi everyone,

Well we've decided to validate the visa's to give us longer to sort our finances out & save money before we go. It is a bit dissapointing but will take the pressure off and means we can make the move when the time is right. We've also decided we'll be more comfortable to see where we're moving to first so it feels a bit less scary! I'll still be updating this thread though and I'll let everyone know when we've booked out flights so hopefully we can meet up with some of you when we come over.

Hi All, well I have just booked my flights for visit about job and research. I found a great airline it only cost me £647 to fly into Melbourne. Stopping one night and a long day in Melbourne to check that out, then flying into Adelaide. this return flight cost me £212. I recon we will get one way flight for £350 each, Royal Brunei check them out. Spending 8 days in Adelaide arriving there on the 29th June, returning on the 9th July.

Yes, we are lucky ones too. Our 176 Visa was granted 11 May 11. We have booked our flights for our reccie trip to travel 20 August.......cant wait. We are renting a house in Moana from Acacia rentals. Good price, lovely accomodation and 3 mins walk to beach!

Not long to go for Tizzer, Julie & Claire..... How exciting! Hows the last min plans going?

 

All going well, and not even stressed (yet ), flying a week on Thursday, still got the farewell drinks to do this saturday, packers coming Monday, checking into hotel for couple of nights then off we go! Still cant quite believe it, its been a long time in the planning and now its actually happening, still trying not to get too excited though otherwise its gonna drive me mad and I need to stay focussed on the forthcoming tasks..... Rob has managed to secure a long term rental for us in Seaford Meadows so all good the other end.

 

Well I must be off, things to do....... good luck to everyone who will be making the move and I hope you get your visa soon Cara. Will give an update as soon as I can.

We too have managed to secure a long term rental, Seaford Rise. Residental letting, the company, have been fantasic. Paying a wee bit more than we had first planned but we are just so happy to have this arranged before we leave.

 

We have waited so long for this we can hardly believe we are now almost there! So excited.

I am not allowed to swear but really...the weather here is so crappy it would make a saint swear! Today it hasn't rained, yet. But this 'summer' so far has been appauling!

 

If your hubbie is from Edinburgh he's posh then! I'm originally from just outside Glasgow but now live in Perthshire. It is beautiful but cold all the efing time!!!!!

 

Any hoo...we are flying out from Heathrow 16/08/11. Arriving 18/08/11. Can't wait! It is a real juggling act though. I am stopping work in 3 weeks. Thank goodness, I don't think I'd cope working right up until we go.

Hahah wouldn't say he was posh...... been living with me too long , weather down south isn't much better to be honest, on Sunday it rained ALL DAY, it was like a winter's day not flippin June.

 

We used to drive up to Scotland 3 times a year or so, and it was always bloomin cold, last time we were there was beginning of December last year when they had all that snow and everything just came to a standstill........oh happy memories lol

 

Time will fly by and before you know it you will be on your way, maybe catch up on the other side!!
