Hi all house finally sold today after 8 wks, one less worry before we leave. My stress levels have been through roof. Rehoming our GSD as can't afford to bring out to Aus. Shippers coming 10th Aug it's all seeming more real now it's moving so fast.

Hi Cara can we please join your thread, it’s a really great idea I am getting excited reading everyone posts!

 

Here is our info so far:

House under offer after 3 weeks on the market , not only that the lovely couple offered a date of entry of 31st Jan to save us moving into rented accommodation (getting nervous that something might go wrong as I know a lot of people who are struggling to sell, and we seem exceptionally lucky)

We have booked our flights. We leave the UK on the 24thFebruary, we are travelling with British Airways from Glasgow to Heathrow then with Singapore airlines from Heathrow onwards, (Hubby thinks I have booked the flights too early – I have told him they will get dearer if we leave them – hope I am right as there is a £20 bet running on it)!

We have booked a four week short term rental with Acacia rentals in Moana for when we arrive, and I have to say they have been very helpful, and the accommodation looks really nice.

Once we arrive we are going to be looking at Hallet Cove or surrounding area, however, Hubby thinks we might need to go north to save him spending to much time travelling, will need to see once we hit the ground.

 

I have been to Australia but never been to Adelaide, but like most folks have done loads of research. Hubby travelled through Adelaide when he went out on a years work visa – but that was a long time ago!

Sorry it's taken me so long to update the thread, been really busy recently & we have students staying with us at the moment too. It's also quite nice to have a break and not come on here every day now as it was getting a little all consuming lol Glad to see we are still getting people joining this thread though, will look forward to arranging some meet ups when we come out to validate in Sept!

 

In the meantime we are going to Take That tomorrow, SO excited! lol
