887 Visa - What's the update?

Hi Cloud and all others, my brief timeline is as follows:

 

Visa Applied: 30th Dec 2013

Team 13 Contact: 3rd May 2014

ESC Started: 14th May 2014

Grant: 2nd July 2015

Nationality: Pakistan

 

All I know is my last contact with Immigration was on 12/06/2015 and that that time my case was still ongoing. I called them yesterday and the officer took a long time looking at my case telling me that your file is for review in the coming days. So I am assuming somewhere between 12/06/2015 and today ESC was cleared.

 

I would say anyone who's ESC went before or around the same time as me give DIBP as nudge to see if there's any update.

Alternately, ASIS did nothing - just waited a specific time. No crimes for that period -> you are good to go.

It is so frustrating.

2013's age going - it is a good news.

 

sugarboy was checked 566 days. I guess ASIS went to Pakistan and met everyone who knew sugaboy. Several times.

Alternately, ASIS did nothing - just waited a specific time. No crimes for that period -> you are good to go.

It is so frustrating.

 

I am sure I wasn't and no one else gets checked for that long. The actual checking is hardly few minutes if not hours.

 

The problem is the backlog and the flawed policies which cause more pain to the applicants and little to no gain to the society.

 

As I've previously mentioned doing checks is probably good, but the amount of time it takes for the case to go through is horrendous. But on a side note, it seems like things are moving at least recently there has been a huge surge, I hope all to get their visas soon in particular the following members:

 

eid, locomotive, ishi, ak86 and docA (These are the remaining 2013 applicants) on the forum

I received this reply from ASIO for my complaint ;

 

There is no current case with ASIO in relation to your visa application. This could mean either:

 

 

• no referral has yet been made by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), OR
  
• a referral has been made by DIBP but was not required, OR
  
• a referral has been made by DIBP and has been completed.
  

Please contact DIBP for a status update and further information about this application.

My timeline is same as yours except I was contacted by team 10 & 13 on September 2014. I just submitted AFP and PCC from Bangladesh again in June. Don't know how long is it going to take now. Did you contact them?
