Hi ZarahK,

Obviously, they have written this law (someone in Immi) but the case officers are important. For instance, according to this law, if a new baby comes few months before lodging, the whole family should stay 2 years more (a bug). As I know, before there was no law about second applicant as this document checklist shows and lawyer confirms it:

https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/887-/Skilled-Regional-visa-(subclass-887)-document-checklist

In residence requirement, it says:

  • Evidence that you have lived in a specified regional area for at least two years as the holder of an eligible visa prior to lodging this application.
  • Evidence that each dependent who is also an applicant for this visa has complied with the conditions attached to their visa while in Australia. It doesn't say that second also should stay 2 years.

BTW, when can you apply for 887 visa? Do you know that what happen if our 887 visa refuse? Do we back to 489 visa? Would you please give me the contact number of Immi? Thanks.

Hi Sam,

Did you get any updates that partner shud stay for 2 years or is it a bug?

Please assists me. I'm in big trouble

Thanks

Deftown

Today, CO contact me, they asked for Australian Police check for the main applicant.

We have been lodged Victorian police check (fingerprint and name check), but they want AFP - name check. (we will apply today and asap lodge).

Everything else seams OK, because for other applicant was - information requested - Nil. :)

Hi All,

I lodged my application couple days ago. Now, in the application status i'm clicking on the View bridging visa grant notification link but can't see any bridging visa letter. The link only shows the acknowledgement of application received letter. I haven't received anything via email. Can someone guide me how to get the bridging visa letter?

Regards,

 Voz

Hi,

I received bridging visa on the same day of lodgement. Got via email notification. When I checked my application also, from the link I was able to view/download it.

I suggest, just wait for couple of days. If you still didn't receive, call Immigration quoting Application Reference no or payment receipt number.

Hope this help.

Hi Baki,

Good luck in your process, just wanna ask you did they ask for your overseas police clearance or just the Australian police clearance? If yes, did you send the old one or you submitted a new one.

Regards

- Application lodged on 24 April 2017.

CO asked just Australian police check. (We already have lodged AFP (from 11.2016) but it was for employment purposes - not for immigration) O.o

Overseas police check was new (10.2016) we were cleaver and when my husband was overseas (1 month) he get new police check, just for every case.

Good luck to everyone.

Because they asked for more information now status is - information requested. Once we upload requested document - status will be assessment in progress.

Hi,

I don't have any update. I just have lodged and waiting for CO.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for ur response. Does ur partner fulfilled the 2 years stay before u apply or u have just applied with the main applicant fulfilling the 2 years stay?

I have gone through the https://www.legislation.gov.au/Series/F1996B03551 and it clearly says only one applicant shud fulfil the 2 years stay and 1 year full time work

Hi everybody,

I am a new member in this helpful forum and would like to thank you all for such helpful information and insights.

I have a question that I would like to share it with you, so anybody who may have passed through a similar experience might be able to enlighten me with his views.

we (my family and I) are on Visa 489 and living in a regional area since we arrived in Australia, We are planning to apply for Visa 887 after few months right after fulfilling all conditions.

I do have a promising job opportunity overseas that might still be available by the time of application, my questions are:

If we moved overseas right after the application, does this move endanger or risk the visa grant by a way or another?

or maybe extend the processing time of the visa?

Do you believe that hiring a migrant agent to run the application process will add value to the case? If yes do you advise for a specific agent that is known to be a specialist in 489 to 887?

Thank you again, appreciating your patience and time.

1. You can not leave regional area until and unless you get grant!!!!

2. Apply online 887 visa by your self or via agent doesn't make any difference at all in terms of value or speed!!!
