  1. The days out here are cheaper it would cost me a minimum £150 that includes the petrol to get somewhere decent and back again for a day. where as its free here. Dont need 2-3 holidays a year just to try and get some sun and piece and quiet away from the dross £5000. The wages are far better and we have much more disposable income here than the UK, also must add that I do work more hours as the work is here to be had. I wonder how many people on here posted in the early days that they where coming to Australia for the lifestyle and climate and that money and income was not the driving force.
  2. Christmas eve tea out then down to the beach at Moana great sunset a quick swim and kick the ball around. Christmas day up at 6.30 , 7.30 the room floor had vanished beneath wrapping paper 10.30 Lauren had us down the beach again to check out her new surf board. We had a picnic down there for dinner then back home around 2.30 to put the roast pork and full mashings on. So far very relaxed no one planning our days or throwing tantrums for not spending our day with them. All in all I have loved every minute. Hope everyone else has enjoyed Chrimbo so far.

  8. I think you will need a TAX FILE NUMBER this can be done over the internet. Dont quote me on this. They have an office at Colanades Noarlunga. All the best for when you arrive, we have been here 10 weeks know and loving it. Only bit of advice I would give is things are a lot more relaxed and there doesnt seem to be any rush to process things.
  9. We stayed at Aldinga bay holiday village. Basic accom but has everything you need 2 double beds fully equipt kitchen, nice decking, pool, and right on the beach. We booked it through century 21 at Aldinga I think they charged us $380 A WEEK maybe more know as its the summer. 17. Hi Sharon. We did exactly the same rented the house out, its making us money so why sell. Port Noarlunga is fantastic with a beautiful beach probably one of the best in Ozz. Plenty of shops at the Colananeds Centre infact to many. We live at port Noarlunga South. Lauren my daughter loves it here we go to the beach when ever we want, which is most nights. Its a really laid back lifestyle here with a good community feel. I would enrol your daughter at Port Noarlunga Primary if thats where you want her to go as I know its getting near capacity with all us Poms moving here. If you need any help just let us know as they say here no problem mate. Trev Vicki and Lauren 10.

  21. I think I would go back for a month 1st just to see how dark and glum it is for the next 4 months. Everyone crammed in like sardines ,Hidden behind the curtains watching TV because the weather dictates what you can and cant do. I cant think of anything worse than being stuck in rush hour traffic on a cold and wet morning or night. Each to there own though good luck with what ever you decide at least you tried it and had a go.
  22. We stayed at Aldinga Bay Holiday Village for 9 weeks. It had everything required kitchen, lounge, 2 double bedrooms, bathroom, nice decking, garden, pool also its right on the beach. It was basic but we managed Ok. I think for 4 weeks and over it works out at $380 per week with century 21 Aldinga.
