  3. Shopped in the Warrnambool store a few times and I now live near the Seaford Heights store...the Vic store is much more akin to a UK store (having a liquor section helps!). Def a bigger range from memory with a few more known brands next to the Aldi stuff. Maybe future SA Aldi's will be larger and therefore carry a wider range.
  4. That sort of forward thinking is not welcome in South Australia, the unions and lefties just wouldn't get it:nah:
  5. If you're vaccinated then therefore you are protected...no need to be a scientist or digest peer reviewed studies etc to understand this. Therefore if you choose to vaccinate you have absolutely nothing to fear. As for immunity, if you're over 30 and unless you've had any sort of "booster" recently then you have zero protection anyway; those high school vaccinations wearing off long ago.........adults account for the vast majority of the population. As a sick adult, eg if you have whooping cough, you also have a choice (and responsibility) to exclude yourself and not spread disease to those too young to be vaccinated. Such hypocrisy and lack of self education is why this whole topic becomes irrational. As for facts, ALL medical procedures and medicines carry risk. It is for the individual to assess risk vs benefit as to any medical procedure that is performed on their (or their child's) body. Especially so in Australia which currently has no vaccine injury compensation scheme as the UK does. If you have a serious adverse reaction you're on your own. With regards to whooping cough in particular, the issue of "community immunity" isn't due to people choosing not to vaccinate, its because the actual vaccine has been out of stock since late 2015 and will continue to be so for good while longer.....but lets not let the facts get in the way of making such judgement.
  6. Proper Clotted Cream now available at Woolies.....its made in Tasmania and has zero additives, thickners and all the other crap they put in dairy products over here. Finally you can have your xmas pud as it should be!

  10. Purchased from Le Cornu approx 5 years ago. Has a few scratches here and there but nothing a good clean and wax wouldn't fix. Very solid table, just doesn't fit with our new house. $170 Gareth
  11. Can you get these in Adelaide? This isn't London with Timmy Mallet stores on every street corner you know..........
  12. I worked in that very same potato factory, featured in the link, when I first came here on a working holiday visa!
  13. The executive bogan's choice of chariot! You can still pick up a European V6/straight 6 barge of the same age over here, BMW 5 series, VW Passat etc Each to their own though when it comes to cars..
  14. That's a criminal offense in Cornwall....Carrots never belong in a real Cornish pasty, just Swede, Potato, Chuck Steak,a little onion, Salt & Pepper and only ever shortcrust pastry too.
  15. No r in a pasty, and definitely no carrots, peas or corn either!
  16. The worse one is Launceston........pronounced incorrectly as Lorn-Cess-Ton, in Cornwall the original Launceston is always pronounced Lan-sen....
  17. Agree, I lived in Dubai 10 years ago and the worst people were the long term UK ex-pats, the locals and other nationalities were far friendlier and open minded. In the UK there are still the same issues as mentioned in the original post, growing up in Cornwall I knew people who "hated" grockels and emits (anyone from north of the Devon border). You get small mindedness everywhere, just choose not to associate with these people, its just their own fear & ignorance that is limiting their lives not yours. Having said all that I often remind my employers, who are Wogs, that's they need Poms like me for their far superior brains and work ethic! My best tip to break down barriers is to remind everyone here that we all share the same Queen, has always helped me start a conversation with an unfriendly native!
  18. Hi Jayne We've just the same thing in Seaford. Use mini movers, they were superb! Like you we only needed them for the big stuff, they had everything loaded and unloaded within 1.5 hours and they only charge by the hour, total cost was under $350 so cheaper and a lot lot easier than hiring a van and doing it myself. http://www.minimovers.com.au/
  19. This inhaler will be $36.90 at every chemist across Australia. This is just a co-payment, the full cost of this item will be shown on the label (approx. $70 I think). The full price is set by the government price disclosure therefore not set by pharmacies or suppliers ripping off consumers.
  20. Nonsense, but don't let facts get in the way of a good story as they say. Its easy just to find another 200+ script items that are cheaper here than the UK/Europe & USA. At the end of the day "most" script lines will cost no more than the $36.90 co-payment (or $6.00 for concession card holders). We are very fortunate, im my opinion, to have such a great system here (medicare & PBS), unlike the UK where the NHS will cover a Gluten Free Pizza base! Don't forget its the tax payer that pays for everything, $36.90 is a very reasonable price to pay for a medication that presumably is giving you back quality of life. Interestingly JUNK food is far cheaper here than the UK, maybe if this wasn't the case then the need for prescription medicines wouldn't be so high??
  21. We lived there for 4 years, back in Adelaide 2 years now. Message me of you want info on anything.
  22. If Yes we should re-invade and simply take it back again:biggrin:
