  7. Hi chris our dog arrived from the uk around March time and we were really worried about the flight quarantine etc... He stayed in melbourne quarantine station for 10 days and we chose not to visit him as we didnt want to distress him further. However I rang Spotswood every other day to check on how he was doing which they didnt have a problem with. All was fine and Dylan had no sooner adapted than he was whisked off on the flight to adelaide (all sorted through a pet transport company) where we picked him up at the Toll depot! I must say when he arrived he seemed to be the happiest he could be given the circumstances and enjoyed going mad on the beach on arrival! The best was realising that after 3 months he hadnt forgotton us!
  8. Hi Adam i work in greenwith and wynn vale schools (not a teacher) and love working in both of them but if i had to pick greenwith would just take it!
  9. Yes LC the war of the roses.... The house of york(white) and the house of lancaster (red) hence the rivalry between Yorkshire and lancashire!TD will know all about it! Hence why im a pink rose but make great Yorkshire puddings

  11. Erm i dont know LC apparently the house of LANCASTER and the house of YORKSHIRE! The war of the roses! red rose and the white rose... I definitely sit on the fence having parents from both sides of the pennines! The big hills that separate us and get blocked by snow every year! But as you can see the best yorkshire puddings come from yorkshire!

    Car imports

Hi linda not really sure of the total cost its worked out in quite a complicated way You might be worth getting some shipping quotes.... It really depends on how much you love your car! Mine was a wedding present from my husband so was worth every penny to me... Oh and its a convertible so fun in the sun! Good luck with it all.

    Car imports

Hi Kathryn yes we did have to pay import tax which i think is about 10% of the value ..... Or something to that effect.
  19. Heh hem... A true england fan would not give up the hopes and dreams just yet! WE ARE NOT OUT! We just need to keep our head high and the team play with passion.... And hope italy do us proud! KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE!!!
  20. I agree people struggle with the accents and sayings! Kathcats sat navs are only about $60 from big W and worth every penny! i woutd be lost without mine for work!
  21. Hey KennyKen.... Think about the time you have been here, 1st May isnt that long! I know from my own experience that its frustrating being at home when you have ALWAYS worked, it took me 3 months to secure a job and like you i applied for hundreds and had more knock backs than chances! You are doing all the right things to secure work so stay positive (sometimes its hard....i know) and eventually the job will follow... I know people commented that i had done really well to get work in 3 months, and for the opportunity i am greatful! Good luck and dont give up
  22. KennyKen, don't know what field of work you are applying for but for the job I got there were 150 applicants! Therefore i pretty sure the organisation wouldn't provide feedback to all applicants unless they were interviewed. Some of the ones I appliedfor didn't acknowledge the application. Do you ring to ask for feedback? Good luck
  23. Sounds familiar! 150 applications..... 5 interviews ..... And 3 months later! Hey presto the right job turned up! Keep up the hard work and determination and it will pay off! Then you might find yourself missing or laughing about the library club....... Idid!
