State Sponsorship tracker again!

Good Ozdreams this is now very clear, though am just from having the PCC al just wait for it, as for meds I decided to chill out till CO asks and confirms to go ahead, I believe al have CO around 1st-5th of Sept.

Hi guys, I just contacted my CO about the timeline and looks like a general rule is to allow applicant 28 days for uploading docs from the day when CO asked for it. No need to do meds and pcc until being asked by the CO. For example, if CO is satisfied with the initial docs, CO will ask for PCC n Meds and probably give another 28days timeline.

Hey Guys

I have got news for you all:biggrin:...My agent called day before yesterday and said I am approved for ACT Canberra State Sponsorship which I applied long way back in April ...:err:... My OH is in Adelaide and I am not sure whether I should wait for SA or just file my Visa...Now I am in a big dilemma...Personally I always preferred Adelaide over Canberra because most of ICT jobs in ACT need "security clearance" (only for Oz citizens)....

One more clarification, My agent told me that my occupation "ICT Security Specialist" is in "DIAC SOL 2" so SA cannot sponsor me for 176 but can for 475(although I applied for 176) ? Now that's giving me more goosebumps...Anyone has an idea what she is talking about?

Hi Bob

Your occupation is on SOL 2 and the list for South Australia. All the info I have read says you can have a job listed on SOL 1 or 2 with State Sponsorship and apply for a 176. Also it doesnt say on the SA website only certain jobs are for certain visas. I'd ask them to check again if I were you,

Thanks for the info. I appreciate that. My agent is registered MARA agent and I wasn't sure that as I am in SOL 2 I can't apply for 176 but she is adamant.. Lets wait and watch...

Big Bob, something doesn't seem right as ur agent said SA cant give u a 176 yet your occupation is in the SA List, I think dont let the SA 176 chance go just like that as the procedures are very clear online that u qualify for 176, further more u already did ur application, pls hang-on but have ACT as ur backup plan just incase.

To thos who got COs and moved a step ahead congratulations, I believe next week al have a CO and join u up there.

Hi Big Bob,

I looked up a couple of sites (Prim. Teachers are also SOL2). I don't think it's a problem, below are a couple of comments from other agents web sites.

Hope it gets all cleared up!

Skilled sponsored 176 visa (offshore)/886 (onshore)This visa is a permanent visa which requires you to be sponsored by an Australian State to live and work in that state for 2 years. Your occupation should be on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) 2.

--------

State Migration Plan - Subclass 176 (permanent)

You can nominate an occupation from either schedule 1 or schedule 2 of the Skilled Occupations List

Pls can someone give me some advice on form 80? Does brothers and sisters include step-brothers and step-sisters and sisters in law etc...

Also section 30 - does it mean intended visit to Australia after award of visa or an incidental one before?

Am very confused! Would appreciate any help!!!

From a very muddled Josie! : (

Hey Arntoh/ IrishStew

Thanks for the information...Yes my occupation is in SOL 2 and I complete 70 points in points test... That makes me eligible ....Let me sack my agent :biglaugh:...

Josie

Yes all your step-brothers and step-sisters are also included in this form but not any of your in-law relationships.

Section 30 of form 80:

Details of intended visit to Australia : Permanent migration and work

Date of arrival or proposed arrival (DAY/MONTH/YEAR) : :wink:You should know that

Place of proposed arrival : Anywhere in SA (I am sure you are not going to mention Melbourne or Sydney)

Period of time permitted to remain in Australia as authorised on arrival :Indefinite

Purpose of journey : Permanent Migration

Additional periods of stay authorised after arrival (if applicable) : Blank ( don't write Blank:huh:)

Proposed address in Australia (number, street name, suburb, state) : Adelaide (not searched yet)

thanks and regards

Bob

Big Bob, I'm on the SOL 2 list and have SA state sponsorship for a 176. Is it possible your occupation has special conditions or something like that ...just guessing, otherwise I don't understand why you can't apply for a 176 if your occupation is on the SOL 2 list...?

Thanks for the info pal.... I am sure you all are right....Although I have ACT State sponsorship still going to wait and watch because personally I prefer Adelaide to Canberra...My occupation is Highly available and haven't encountered anyone with my ANZSCO yet in any of top three forums...:err:...My MARA agent gonna feel the heat in case I get sponsored...I am paying her freaking AUD$2000 for consulting...although I know all the process word by word but somehow just don't want to take any chances...SA is sleeping as we had no new sponsorships this week yet...Jerrychokes, Josie,Two_chants are in queue(as per date of received documents) and then comes my turn...Lets hope for the best

Trade/profession:System Administrator & Program/Project Administrator (Secondary Applicant)

Sksmith : I would suggest you to update SA Immigration about your assessment with a simple letter and your OH's reference number as it may cutoff your time for SS. Worth giving a shot.

The agent I originally consulted was really helpful identifying visa types/process and explaining how the state sponsorship worked. Originally we thought our only hope was 176 with OH as main applicant as he (web designer) was on SOL 2 list for ACT, but turned out there were no jobs and the criteria was unachievable. We thought it was the end of the process until I found my occupation listed as Project/Programme Administrator (I was determined to find a way in!). To cut a long story short the agent and various migration lawyer buddies of his thought my professional qualification (CIPS) would not be accepted by VETASSESS, however as no-one, as far as we could gather had tried to pass my quals (on the basis that the agents had previously said no it won't pass) I decided to proceed. It was completely against their advice (to the point the agent wouldn't give me a proper quote and decided to take £200 for doing all the VETASSES docs). So when I got VETASSESS I was beside myself...now me and my boys can hopefully join my dad down under! It worked out well as we decided to fly solo for the rest of the process, saved us a small fortune in agents fees and although they are the experts they did get it wrong in my case...I'm just glad I went against their advice! Don't give up, if in doubt question it again you are paying big bucks. I hope you all hear good news soon.

Thanks Big Bob, great suggestion! Unfortunately VETASSESS does not send a lovely PDF letter like ACS, so I will take a screen shot of the successful status and then send a scan of the letter when it arrives in probably two weeks time...

Oh yeah sksmith! I remember giving you that PDF idea to expedite you OH's assessment from ACS ...I do remember that so did ACS send ya that ?? I am sure you have that lovely PDF since you filed your SS:wink:...Great going...All the best for you SS. My sis has also applied for VETASSESS as Financial Institution Bank Manager and I am handling her VETASSESS application:huh:...Any idea on VETASSESS processing timings?? I ideally just helped her for documentation and rest she did everything herself (almost nothing except signing the docs)...Anyways do update them when you get that letter.

cheers!

Thanks Big Bob. Sorry to report that I applied online with VETASSESS last March 8, received payment March 10, received documents March 29. At the time they quoted 6 - 12 weeks, it was more like 6 months... Also, I sent them an 'urgent' e-mail request last week to speed things up as my husband turns 40 next may. One week later, I got my answer. I applied under the same profession as eclare and Amy79 to give you an idea. I think there was/is a backlog just after eclare got through... There is a notice on VETASSESS website about processing times I believe. Still haven't received the actual ACS letter for my husband in the mail, we sent the PDF through with SA application as you suggested. I plan to send them a screen shot of my vetassess status, then a scan once my assessment comes through in the mail. I'm hoping I don't have to send a scanned copy of the original through the post...
