Grant.. Grant...Grant...what a relief 🤩🤩. it was a long journey. it took 21 months

Thank you very much for the all the members and here I have added the summary of the journey.

Applied on 04/04/2018

1st contact 17/05/2019 CO Wilson - various letters from official government agencies sent to PA  ● Evid of employment: copy of payslips for claimed period, ● contract ● superannuation, ● Tax Assessment Notice

2nd contact 19/06/2019 CO Katherine - Unemployment. Advise how you were financially supported whilst unemployed.

Evidence of remuneration for the entire period of employment (for example, bank statements showing wages credited or bank cheques) and 2018 payment summary.

3rd Contact 09/10/2019 CO Michael -Further evidence of employment in a regional area. They check whether you still stay in a regional area even after 2 years. therefore don't go to metro area until you get the Golden letter

Hi Congratulations mate,

Congrats!! Can you please share the conditions of pre-grant? Are you able to move out of regional area and work somewhere else? Thanks

There were no conditions, all they asked is to provide return date to Australia and a travel document within 28 days.
Also, I emailed GSM Adelaide once i arrived in Australia and a regular complaint through The Global Feedback Unit to finalise my application.
I'm not sure of moving out of regional area probably not a wise idea.
Thanks

2020 is a terrible year, with the bushfire and the coronavirus, I hope the department can change things, give us 10+ grants today and don’t make 2020 even worse. Thanks

Hopefully they do something good with all the bad that started the year, time to make some people happy at least.

You got a direct grant ? Which date?

no, you read it wrong. Have not been contacted yet so i don't know if it's right. I read on another forum, not sure which visa he applied but also put parents and sibling on non migrating family member and got a grant, he said the names of his parents and sibligs were on his visa grant as such (non migrating family member) We're not sure if CO is going to be too technical with that.

I believe with 489 you don't have any work restrictions. You can work any job. Just be on a regional area of the state that sponsored you, of if family, designated area.

To answer in brief - No it will not impact.

But at times individuals complicate the entire visa scenario by using all the visa jargon's. Remember that nobody in normal course knows what is 489 or 887 visa numbers. You need to state about your valid and legal working rights thats it. So if you communicate correctly and do well in your interviews don't think visa will be a reason to bother about.

Best of luck !

@sislam Yeah he's right. It doesn't matter what visa you have as long as you don't have work restrictions. It will be discrimination if they won't take you full time because of that.

Hi.. why do you think it will be an issue? I am working in SA only with government client for last 4 years (on another visa prior to my 489), shouldn't be an issue. It will be an issue during contract renewals if we are on a bridging visa unless you are too critical for client (obviously there are reserved priorities ). Go ahead if you eligible and update them timely with your visa status.

Yes

Till the time it is not a federal government project there should not be any issue....

For 887 to be granted every applicant including dependents must be onshore. If any one of is offshore they will issue Pre Grant.

Don't be strange, I work with federal government now, due to demand in skill set they have negotiated Citizenship requirement, however it is being changing now and very hard for coming June renewal. Fingers crossed:-)

Advisable for everyone, don't share you employment background on public forums. Not a ideal thing to do . It is very easy to add/combine data and make meaningful information for any individual. Better be safe than sorry.

In terms of the broad level question on this topic, It does not matter whether it is state or federal govt, unless the role is classified as "sensitive or Trust role"  legal and valid  working rights should be good enough to get through the job assuming interview goes positive.

It is always role dependent and nothing to do with  state or federal govt.

So do not restraint yourself on visa constraints .

You probably can get fixed term full time job (contract) but not on going full time job (permanent). I experienced it so I know 😉 the problem with 489 or any temporary visa is, there's an expiry date on the visa.
