Guest Guest8609
LenoreLot of developer programmer people are in tight spot but since you has applied 2 weeks back I would say you still have bright chances...Believe me...Thats why I started collating all information about professions from all with SMP application date so that at least we have some clarification... You talking about July Changes...I will tell you my story... Feb 2010: Applied ACS July 2010: +ve Assessment in ASCO Code 223179 (Internet/Firewall/CISSP) ( Could have launched 175 but rules changed from July 1 and Visa applications were frozen for 2 months) Rules changed from July 1 2010 Waited for State Sponsored Lists as now occupation in SOL 4 and needed State Sponsorship Applied Victoria State Sponsorship November 2010 Waited 5 months and all winter and spring passed with just refreshing mail everyday then 1 day Victoria Rejected :April 2011 Reason:Eligible but NO DEMAND ACS Reapplied:April 2011 ICT Security Specialist ACT Sponsorship Applied : April 2011 ACT Closed ICT applications : July 1 2011 ACS Assessment Received : July 28 2011 Applied SA Sponsorship : July 28 2011 Now: I am here with you all and still optimistic...things will go worse but keep on hanging... that's the key "When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt Thanks, Bob for your nice response. Our story looks similar. We were on Critical Skills List, had skills assessment with ASCO, then they changed codes to ANZSCO. There was an issue with our code - no mapping, my OH had to apply for ANZSCO from scratch. By the time he got results, DIAC took out points for age. We applied for SA SS, but due to changes they cancelled our application (matter of days). Then other things started to change and we were observing how people were shifted from high priorities to the lowest (and sometimes back). It turned out the law in Australia could work backwards, and I still feel sorry for all the victims of DIACs mad moves. I can't understand - somebody pays huge amount of money for proccessing, has all the docs and certificates done, conforms to all the rules at the time of application - how can you change the law and neglect all their effort, law obedience, expenses, time, etc. If someone was on CSL, leave them on CSL, apply the changes FROM certain date so that people know the rules At THE TIME of making application. In a democratic, free country law does not work backwards! My lesson was: never trust DIAC, get your visa as quickly as possible to avoid their unpredictable actions. We waited for a loooong time to be elligible for visa. We now are elligible for 175, but probably it wouldn't be granted by July 2012 and God knows what happens then to pending visas. 176 iseems to be the only chance to avoid a rollercoaster (hopefully, the processing looks reasonable now). Anyway: We can now lodge for visa. WE GOT STATE SPONSORED TODAY !!!
