Hi guys, sharing the updates, Just received the visa grant today, meds were done on 17 sep and PCC submitted on sep 27. I cannot believe the pace, so fast. Thank you all and hope you guys will get good news soon.

Oh Crap - Systems Administrator has gone to medium. I'm feeling a bit sick, no updates on my status yet.:confused:

Take it easy man. My developer programmer has been in low status for almost 2 days and I still not get an update:arghh:

Nothing yet, hoping for next week now. Systems Admin just went to medium availability (thanks for posting SuzyK) so hoping to get in before it goes any lower...

 

Big congrats to ozdreamsa and everyone who got SS or their third line recently - Manykids, Helchops, Irishstew - won't be long now!

Hi Adelaide Bound, am I right in thinking I can't even register as a teacher in SA until I get there as I haven't been on any courses? What courses do I need to attend? Do you know if they charge you? Questions questions. Sorry! I know you're very knowledgeable on these things!!!

 

No worries - you can't fully register as you need to have your First Aid course (try the SA Red Cross for that one, but apparently there are loads that offer it) and your mandatory child protection training (see here: http://www.trb.sa.edu.au/mnt.php and these people do a course, the dates are on the link on the right hand side of the page : http://www.pscsa.org.au/cms/ ). However, you can send them your qualifications to be assessed (they need to be done again - the AITSL was only for migration purposes ONLY, not teacher registration), which is stage 1. Then when you get there, do your 2 courses, then go in with your police check (from the last 12 months, or you need another), and all the other paperwork and it shouldn't take too long after that.

 

The courses are probably a couple of hundred A$ in total (the child protection depends on if you go on a weekday or weekend - the price is on the availability list), the price of the first aid varies a little depending on who its with, I think I've budgeted about A$60 for that one), not massively expensive, and they last for either 3 or 5 years I think (sorry, brain not working today).

Hey guys - It's been so many pages since I last updated the trackers, that I thought I should do it this morning!!

 

Changes include:

Jerrychokes Visa Grant (**CONGRATULATIONS** - Could you please update me with missing info from 176 page)

 

Also, added 3rd line for Manykids, Helchops and Irishstew which hopefully means we're up next! Has Lslion had any updates as yet?

Guys, I'll tell you two things:

1. We had weird things happening with those info 'lines' while waiting for SA sponsorship (check posts from August if you don't believe me ;).

2. Occupation on the list was on Low.

Guess what.. We got our SS, so try not to worry about the things you can't change :) Just try to forget about the wait - socialise, go to the cinema, take kids to the swimming pool, take care of the garden, etc... KEEP YOURSELVES BUSY to forget about the wait.

 

Today we completed medicals - it was in Dublin, fast, efficient, nice. I was impressed, but for this money I guess, I should expect it.

There's only one document (police check) left for upload, so it's not quite finished.

Still, I'm thinking that waiting for SS was more stressful than now waiting for a visa, LOL!!!

Looking forward to seeing more people turned 'blue' in our tracker.

Developer programmer, Software Engineer and ICT Security Specialist have turned into red 'special conditions applies' in the SMP.

 

So basically anyone who has not been granted it under these categories yet will only be successful if they have studied in South Australia etc.

We havent heard anything yet, its now 4pm in SA so we are assuming we wont hear anything today.... the nervous wait continues...

Oh no! Software Engineer is off the list!!!

 

What do we do now? Is there any chance it will be reinstated in the coming months or does that mean it's game over until next July?
